Hi,

Just noticed my Tv Guide is blank - looks like the Radio Times site is full of empty data again. Has anyone else got this issue or is it only me?

Steeb,

I notice you use digiguide aswell. How do you setup XMLTVGUI to use Digiguide (I seem to recall needing additional files, but havent been able to find them).

I may try using that as an interim

Thanks

Hi Gary,

I use a really old download of a webscheme for Digiguide that enables it to ouput xml data, it goes way back a few years, and all I did was put a couple of files in the digiguide schemes/server skins folder and quickly enable it in digiguide. These files seem impossible to get hold of now. I was about to try and find a way to send you these files but then I found this:

I've never tried it that way but looks v simple? Would be very interested to know how simple Wink

If not I'll send you the files I have.

Let me know how you get on!

Me too. Make sure you are using the current version of Birtles xmltvgui as he made some handy tweaks that leave the previous XML file intact if the RT was giving blank data.

Yup, I'm on 3.14, AB did implement some great stuff with last release BUT it could be something with the way I've got my set up I am getting an xml file output, it has data but is empty

I think it is because I have 2 instances of xmltvgui running, that then combine, investigating!

Excellent, care to share the installation process? Just very interested how it all works, did you have to manually edit or copy files anywhere? Wasn't going to try myself just yet as what I have works but immanent server rebuild coming with total switch to NPVR!

cheers

Yes, I think it will be pretty much like the files you already have - anyway

1) The download contains a self install program which creates a new folder containing a series of files (as I wasnt going to use the actual installed program I just pointed this to a subfolder of 'my documents')

2) Copy the "Digiguide Folder" directory in its entirety into your DigiGuide
install folder. Note: This creates a skin folder called 'xmltv.dgscheme-web' which will need renaming to 'dg2xml'

3) Enable the web service in DigiGuide:
Tools -> Customize -> Web Service -> Enable Web Service and select the correct skin
and enter a password.

4) Setup Birtles XMLTVGUI for the Digiguide Grabber

I think that is all I did, it only took a few minutes from start to finish

Hope it helps
