I have just installed GB-PVR on a fresh install of Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, with all media center services off. This machine is a Dragon from Mythic.tv. KnoppMyth when configured on this box only gives you HDTV outputs. I needed it to output analog so I could watch what I was recording. So I bought MCE 2005 hopeing that it would reconize the pcHD HD-3000 NTSC/ATSC/QAM card that it came with. That didn't work so I went looking and remember that GB-PVR was free and well supported so put it on here. Now GB-PVR is reconizing the card, but EPG is not working. It gives an error to manually run it for updates. Which I already have done many times. I'm using the zap2it account I already had. Here is what I did during initial setup.

1) installed GB-PVR
2) Config auto loads
3) General Tab - Turned off Show in Window mode
4) Playback Tab - Did nothing here.
5) Capture Sources Tab - Added pcHD HD-3000 with BDA recording plugin. EPG source is Zap2it with account info entered.
6) Clicked Update EPG, waited for it to finish and then Oked the dialog
7) Channels Tab - Checked to make sure channels are listed.
8) Clicked OK on config program.
9) Run GB-PVR. Click Guide or Live TV and get error.
10) Go back to config and all channels under the Capture Source are disabled now.

What gives?

Thanks,
Ben

You need to manually set up the tuning information for HDTV channels. See http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Confi...HDTVSource

Ok. Got that working. Now I'm getting a windows titled Microsft Visual C++ Debug Library. It is saying that that

Program: C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\gbprv.exe
File: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003\Vc7\atlmfc\include\atlcomcli.h
Line: 148

Expresion: p!=0

For information on how your program can cause an assertion failure, see the Visual C++ documentation on asserts.

I press ignore and I get "Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object." in your app window.

Thanks,
Ben

Where exactly do you get this message?

Zip and attach your logs and I'll take a look.

It'll be related to the following error in your logs:
Quote:11:47:18.984 VERBOSE Successfully auto detected tuner filter: Conexant 2388x Transport Stream Capture
11:47:18.984 VERBOSE ConnectPins: 'MPEG2 Transport' to 'MPEG-2 Stream'
11:47:19.031 VERBOSE ConnectPins failed: hr = 80040217

You'll need to check the pin names specified in bda.ini for your card match the names on your machines. You can use GraphEdit to check these.

You'll need to check the pin names specified in bda.ini for your card match the names on your machines. 'insert' the pcHD-3000 filters, and compare the names against those listed in bda.ini.

Alternatively try a different version of the drivers for this device and hope it helps.
