You need to actually install the encoder, just unzipping it and putting into the same folder isn't good enough. I suggest you also try and use the ATI Avivo encoder. Lots of people (me included) seem to think it uses less CPU than other encoders. Also it's a non-trial version Smile

I thought I had installed it, once the app. opened I couldn't figure out exactly what to do with it.

Well I'll forget about that... I just downloaded the ATI Avivo encoder you mentioned. I installed it in it's default directory (c:\ATI\SUPPORT\6-3_encoder_30895\). I made sure that all options were installed. When finished there are 44 files including the installer and setup files. The only file that is named as an application is "makensisw"; when I double-click it it gives me the error "please verify that makensis.exe is in the same directory as makensisw.exe." I did a search and can not find a file named makensis.exe anywhere on my computer. I feel terrible that I am having such problems, I'm sorry.

Any more suggestions?

Thank you for all the help!!

I think you've downloaded the wrong file. I downloaded AvivoVideoConverter1_12.rar and it has 7 files and 1 folder. One of the files is called 'setup.bat'.

Hi,

I have installed your plugin, the latest beta, and it seems to work great with the above card.

Live TV Works great!

Problem is can't seem to timeshift or record, start to timeshift , get a black screen file gets greated and after a about 10 sec stops and returns back to the menu.

The file is just black video with audio.

I have installed the Elecard Mpeg Encoder V4.0
I am using the Intervideo Mpeg Decoder.

This card works fine with GB-PVR for Digital FTA recording and timeshifting, Just want to use the Comp input. see http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...direct.ini

Is there anyway to get it to record.

I attach log files, and lastgrpah.

Thanks

Paul.

Try using 'Line-In' instead of 'Analog Mix (Line/CD/Aux/TAD/PC)'. Also try alternate decoders and the ATI Avivio encoders/decoders. What does plain recording, then trying to play the recorded file in Media Player do?

Hi,

Strange thing is that line in does not appear in the list to pick from?

Appears in other apps like Windows Media encoder, thats the only option that seems close, but is bit of a hassle, as I have to unmute line in to hear the sounds, though it records the sound ok.

Plain record does the same thing. Black screen, with the audio, Media plaer won't play it, WINDVD7 does.

Where would I get the ATI Avivio decoders encoders? I don't have an ATI card?

Thanks

Paul.

Hrm, I looked a bit closer and see what you mean. Line-In only appears on the Windows Mixer and not on the Recording Source. Maybe time for yet-another-config-option.

If WINDVD is playing the recorded file, then the problem is definitely the decoders.

Follow the ATI encoders link in post #1, and the download link is at the bottom of the article. The ATI package should give you decoders too if-i-remember-correctly. (You might have to add them to the approved decoders list in config.xml manually)

I am using Zoltrix TV Genie. The tv tuner card pipes audio to my motherboard's internal aux audio connector. The TV Genie software works fine. I get video and audio, but the recording features are very basic.

I am trying to get GBPVR v0.96 + Software Recorder v0.24 working. I get video in LiveTV mode but no sound. I played around with the Software Recorder options but to no avail. I need some help diagnosing the problem.

Is it a limitation of the Software Recorder plugin? Have a look at the attached screenshot of the Software Recorder config. I selected Aux as the Input for the Audio Capture card, but the Recording Source setting only gives me the option of Video:Tuner, Audio: Tuner. Why no option for Aux? This may be the reason or maybe not. I am stumped on how to get this configured properly.

I think you might want to use 'Line-In' instead of 'Aux'?

Can you post your logs and perhaps GraphEdit screenshot?

I tried the line-in option and all other Input options for the Audio Capture Card. None work.

I tried 2 motherboards with built-in sound (Asus A7V8X and MSI GA-K8N51PVMT-9) using the aux and cd inputs. All 4 combinations work for the Power VCR II Pro 3.0 recorder. Here is a link to the card specs and software if that helps at all.

http://www.zoltrix.com/products/video/8MMZXGENIE.htm
http://www.zoltrix.com/support_html/Mult...ivers.html

When I click Live TV in gbpvr I do hear a click from the speakers. I checked windows sound mixer to make sure all inputs are turned up to 11 and not muted. It seems like gbpvr is selecting the input but something is preventing the sound from playing.

I will see what I can do about logs. Where can I get GraphEdit?

I read through some earlier posts in this thread. My problem seems to be the same as tipstir's if that helps.
