I believe that the project file structure is different between 2002 and 2003. I'm running 2003 so I didn't have a problem.

You could create a new class library project in 2002 and copy just the C# files across from the example project. But you would need to work out what a few of the project settings need to be set to.

good luck!

Well I have some bad news concerning my VS 2002. As most of you may know I can't open the shutdown plugin. With this I will have to give up for now I will still attempt to do something in C++ if I can. But no clue on how that will go with my 3rd to last semester coming up in a couple weeks. My attempt will continue as long as my classes are not too difficult.

Lastly, I would really love to help with this project; my programming skills are some what good, its just the learning curve that I need help with here because I just don't have the time to waist learn C sharp, very unfortunatly. Any help figuring out the class system in C sharp or moving it over C++ would help me so much and I could get started.

Sorry,
Rock

Hey rock, try this. You can use this editor, and it explains how to use the free C# compiler that comes with the 1.1 .NET framework.

EditPad Pro

Good luck!

@CodeMonkey:

This is a great pointer. I did not release there was a C# compiler in the framework (shows you how much attention I pay to MS stuffSmile

Time to put the OO hat on,

Cheers,
Colin.

I'll give it a look. I also want to really thank all you for your support, just hope I can produce a product!

Sincerely,
Rock

PS. I am adding a tip, for editting your irremote.ini to add a must have feature, in the support forum since most of the newbies live there.

Wow, get this I am very excited. I was in the middle of looking for a warez version of 2003, which are not easy to come accross any more, and thank God I found a VS 7.1 and 7.0 converter.

Now I just have to figure out C#.

Awsome,
Rock

There's also a free command line C++ compiler from MS: Microsoft Visual C++ Toolkit 2003 You get the same compiler and linker that ships with Visual Studio .NET 2003 Professional. After installing, check the README.htm file has links to download more libraries.

@bitter_old_man:

Excellent pointer. This solved my problem of how to create resource files for forms. Hadn't figured out how to do that manually.

I have not used this to compile any src, I use edit pad pro for this (I'm a *nix developer, I like my command lines [Image: smile.gif] )

For those who do not have Visual Studio of some sort, this is a very good alternative and will get you going for writing plugins, etc. If anyone wants, i can put up a stub project for Sharp Develop with all the interfaces defined,

cheers,
Colin.
