Music Panel problem - Can someone help?

Ever since I upgraded to the latest GBPVR version, the Music Panel has stopped displaying on the main menu; I can't figure out why and it's driving me nuts.

Can someone give the attached skin.xml files a quick look-over and just check I haven't screwed something up??

I looked at your skin files for the main menu and the music panel. I even dropped in your panel xml file in to see if it worked, it did. I had to comment out the graphics you used of course but it worked. The main menu is pretty straight forward and that's called correctly. I don't use My music so i can't comment on that. As long as the graphics you call are there and in the right place it should work.

If you play a song from the standard music library does the panel operate?

Thanks for checking - I have stared and stared at it and I was sure it was right, but an extra pair of eyes.... thanks again. I'll try it with the standard Music Library and see what happens.

the music panel works with any music plugin, if its not showing up its probably your skin. check the panels skin directory for a file called "musicpanel.xml" and check the main menu skin.xml to see if the "MusicPanel" is listed in the "Panels" section (errr special elements i think)

I am still at a complete loss with this; since last post, I have tried:

- Different music plugins, including the default music library.
- Different skins, including the default blue. I have downloaded the latest and greatest from the wiki just in case something has changed.
- I have checked and rechecked and rerechecked that I have the musicpanel.xml present, and that the panel is set to display in the mainmenu.xml
- I have even reinstalled (repair install actually) gbpvr.

And nothing works - I just cannot get the musicpanel to display on the main menu. In my logs I see an error: cannot find setting/specialelement/foregroundtransparency (or words to that effect). Could that have something to do with it?

This is one of those minor annoyances that drive you nuts....

Looks like you are using MCE2 ? or a customized version of it.

Anyway, I dumped those files into a new, clean skin, and it showed up in the upper left corner like expected. (I believe your image art is not located correctly)

In your MusicPanel.xml file, the red number should be lower than probably 430 for album art to show up (2 places).

Your log files may give more clues.

One thing that is not clear. Do you have the MusicPanel.dll in your ..\gbpvr\Plugins directory?

There's no such thing as dumb questions... just dumb users. I did a full reinstall a while ago and - guess what? - forgot to add the .dll back in. I have been messing around with this for WEEKS. I feel such a fool; thanks for taking the time!!!
