I've been using GBpvr for a long time now, it's been trouble free, reliable and while I record TV here and there over the years it's become my main music player. My setup until two days ago was version 99.12 and the Jukebox plug-in. It's become a family and friends favorite, simple to use, even for guests and since more than a few family and friends are in the music business in one area or another, music is always playing here, it's just a staple.

Now that I've been drug into the present (kicking and screaming) and installed the new version of GBpvr I'm in a bit of a quandary. I looked around the Wiki and while I knew Jukebox isn't supported anymore, that's the reason I was still on 99.12. I was hoping to see a replacement of some sort for Jukebox, but I don't see much in the way of simple, easy to use music plug-ins.

So what is everyone using for music these days?

or is GBpvr leaning more toward the video side of things these days?

From what I read, unless I'm reading it wrong, Music Library2 and 3 are on the way to obscurity like Jukebox, unless someone picks it up and continues it's development.

The simplicity and speed of Jukebox, especially on the MVP's was a big part of its charm. A lot of the newer plug-ins got so bloated trying to be all things to all people. If I knew anything about programming I'd re-write it myself, but alas that's not to be. Sad

Bekken's music plugin is quite popular.

That's one I haven't looked at. I'll take a peek. It doesn't say but do you happen to know how dependent on playlists it is? Family and guests are so used to just hearing music playing randomly and picking up a remote to add a song or two, jukebox style. Allowing them to use a program that requires them to make and add to playlists didn't workout well at all for me last time I tried one. It got to be a big mess as you can imagine.

Musiclibrary 2 works great as a jukebox, virtually the only way I use it

I used to use the jukebox plugin years ago but converted to musiclibrary 2 once the random mode worked properly

I am a happy user of Music Library 2 as well. I found version 7 more stable than the present 8. I still have the 2.7 installation for those who need it.

If I've done this right, the latest ML2 version on the wiki (http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Plugin/MusicLibrary2) should be 7.2.

I've just uploaded it back and changed the version numbers etc. Let me know if after downloading it's still 8, and I'll do it again.
