OK - I will try that - but that does seem a little strange!

I recently did the upgrade, my web svr still worked but the button graphics (for login/record/next/prev etc) did not display, just the text. Before I got around to checking into why about two days later they just appeared. Maybe I had a chached css or something but just thought I should mention it, it may be related (based on the timing/days to work)

I tried the following

a) Disable Web admin in Config Manager. Apply the setting. Log back into Config manager and Enable Web admin. Apply the setting - then try and access the Web Admin

RESULT = NO JOY

b) Download WebAdmin from Wiki
Followed the install instructions. Figured that maybe I had some bad files.

RESULT = NO JOY.

How can this be. It just stopped working. Cant even access it from the localhost PC.

Does there need to be any special files in the STARTUP of Windows or something that I may have removed.

I am not a web expert - any advice would be really appreciated.

Maybe worth deleting all the files from c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\web\bin EXCEPT gbweb.dll amd gbweb.pdb, then restart the recording service and try again.

Thanks SUB. Just tried the above and unfortunately it did not work.

It seem to trigger the installation program upon starting the CONFIG app - which put all those files I deleted back again. But still unable to log on to the WEB Admin

I just can't figure this out!

I was so enjoying my web enabled PVR. (Able to check out the web guide from work or O/S)

Any other ideas???

Afaik, when you update web-admin, you stop recordingservice, then delete everything in gbpvr\web folder (when you start config now GBPVR-setup will put back the old files, that's what happened to you I guess), then put new files from downloaded webadmin in gbpvr\web folder, then start recordingservice again. Probably check your settings again in misc-tab in config.
You can check in GBPVRRecordingservice.exe.log if the server is started.
You probably did all this already, but I thought I might list it anyay.

Actually - I didn't check the log files. So will do the process again and this time check the log file.

Thanks for the tip.

I checked the GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log file as advised.

This is what I found

Quote:5/04/2006 10:15:46 PM.018 VERBOSE [4] getValue() loading new key/value into cache: /settings/WebServerEnabled
5/04/2006 10:15:46 PM.018 VERBOSE [4] getValue: /settings/WebServerEnabled : true

5/04/2006 10:15:46 PM.018 VERBOSE [4] getValue: /settings/WebServerPort : 7647
5/04/2006 10:15:46 PM.018 VERBOSE [4] About to check web assemblies...

5/04/2006 10:15:46 PM.034 VERBOSE [4] copying NativeUtilities.dll
5/04/2006 10:15:46 PM.049 INFO [4] Start GB-PVR web on: 7647

This is all I could find on the Web service in the log.

Is this telling me that Web Service was started successfully??

I have done some more testing and when I try and link to

Quote:http://localhost:7647/gbpvr/
i get the following;
Quote:Server Error in '/gbpvr' Application.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Version Information: Cassini Web Server 1.0.2254.33789

this tells me that the Web server is up an running. SO when I try and connect to
Quote:http://localhost:7647/gbpvr/login.aspx
The system just times out after a very long period od time trying to open the page.

Has anybody got any ideas how I can trouble shoot this????

Please this is really frustrating.
