Can someone also check this. It seems strange that the only files infected are the ones I got from the wiki. Is it just luck or is AVG reporting false positive?

These only got detected after my virus definition update today.

I just downloaded and checked the 'Video Archive Plugin Setup.exe', but ZoneAlarm's built in antivirus doesnt seem to identify any virus. I updated my virus definitions before hand, but thats not to say this virus is included if it's new.

We'll see what other user's antivirus apps say.

I ran one of the files through http://virusscan.jotti.org, and it seems that only AVG thinks it is a virus.

Code:

ArcaVir         Found nothing
Avast             Found nothing
AVG Antivirus        Found Dropper.Agent.RT
BitDefender         Found nothing
ClamAV             Found nothing
Dr.Web             Found nothing
F-Prot Antivirus     Found nothing
Fortinet         Found nothing
Kaspersky Anti-Virus     Found nothing
NOD32             Found nothing
Norman Virus Control     Found nothing

AVG noticed it today on a file from Jeff (unistaller for weather plugin) that has been sitting on my drive for weeks, if not more
So:
- either it's a real trojan and has been around for a while and AVG is the first to detect it
- either AVG botched the latest update and something Jeff & Jorm are using in their compilation triggers a false detection.

The installer Jorm and I use (NSIS) is often the report of false virus warnings. See http://nsis.sourceforge.net/index.php?id...tt_news=24

yeah. that was me... AntiVir reported a virus back then (it seems that they "fixed" this)
AMD 1600mHz, 512 M RAM, 20+160 GB drive, Hauppauge PVR-350 + PVR-150 + PVR-150MCE, Win XP Pro SP3, using software decoding.

There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

I downloaded the new release of the Xmedia Skin and when the download finished AVG posted most of the files in the zip as a TROJAN HORSE GENERIC.CNU. Now AVG also did an update today to v7.1 so maybe its a fake but I will not be taking any chances and deleted the XMEDIA zipfile.

Anyone else seeing this???
