Perhaps I am slow but I haven't been able to find a digital TV capture card for use in the USA. Most of the local TV stations (All of the good ones) now broadcast in Digital as well as Analog. What card do you recomend that will work with GBPVR and receive digital terrestrial broadcast signals?

The Dvico Fusion HDTV cards work with GB-PVR. The Fusion5 Lite can be had for about $100. There are at least two of us using them.

If you use an HDTV capture card, do you need to have an HDTV out signal and Television?

Very new to this, got the cash and enough "extra" parts to make me want to build one of these things. But one of the parts I need to buy new or update is the capture card.

To fully enjoy the higher quality of HDTV on a TV you would need an HDTV and a suitable way to watch GBPVR programs on it. (How would depend on the type of TV you have and what connectors it has. Some have RGB and many have DVI you can connect directly to your PCs video card.) Your computer screen is likely already capable of the increased resolution (if you are running 1024x768 or higher) so if you plan on watching on your computer then no.

My goal is to get some of the additional programming offered in the sub channels by HDTV boradcasters in my area as well as a couple of HDTV only channels that are (or will soon) be broadcasting in my area.
