I can't vouch 100% for Tipstir (at least I think those files are his creations), but I don't think he's creating viruses. It is quite common though for AV to report false positives for programs that have been created with the same type of installer that virus makers use. I think something like this might be the case here. Check with the other AV softwares out there.

I have been using Tipsters Skins for a while now and the first time that AVG reported any of these files as a virus was yesterday. I will try another virus program and see what that reports.

Stefan, I didn't think that Tipster was writing viruses either. However, anything that pops up like that is a concern.

I just ran trend micro's free scan on my computer and it didn't find any virus or trojans. I think you're right and that this is a false alarm.

Lowfront, what AV software are you using. I use AVG free and this is what alerted me to a possible virus with tipster's skin files.

Usually you can send the (false positive) files to the AV provider, in order for them to analyze them and then fix in the next update so that you don't get the false positives in the future. I don't know about AVG, though. A quick look at there site tells me it's quite... eh... messy... it's not easy to find what you are looking for, but I guess if you browse around there for a while you should be able to find how to do that.
