okay, when i first built my computer (dedicated to gbpvr) i bought a 150. now i'm thinking of upgrading the system. my question is this, is a 250 or 350 offer better picture quality than the 150?

for reference:
AMD 2800+
150
a nvidia 5200
1 gig ram
total of 360 gig harddrives

The only difference between them is that the 150 comes with an IR blaster & the 350 has onboard hardware MPEG decoding. There may be some difference in the software packages, but I believe the hardware encoding capabilities are equal between all of them. The display quality on playback would depend upon the software decoder and drivers of the video card you use to watch your recordings.

I personally have the 350 and use that for TV out. It's much easier on the CPU utilization and the video quality through S-video is really good, even on recordings that I use "low" quality.
