Okay, I've been doing a bit of playing around with the MusicAlbums2 plugin, to get an understanding of how this stuff works. And having reasonable success. But I can't seem to get any log information out of the beast. Is there something fundamental that I need to know?

I have a bunch of Logger.Verbose calls; everything compiles fine, and I've tried setting the logging level to both Error and Verbose. But I can't find any sign of any of the logs in any files in the gbpvr directory tree.

Btw; when using SharpDevelop, is there any way to debug a plugin, other than using the log information? For instance, is there any way to actually set up breakpoints and do real source code debugging?

Any pointers would be appreciated. I didn't notice anything in the tutorial, and didn't have any luck searching for any related info on the forum.

The messages should be going into the gbpvr.exe.log file.

I havnt used SharpDevelop, but you should be able to debug your plugin by settin the executable to gbpvr.exe

That's what I thought; I just tried it again (brought up gbpvr, then check gbpvr.exe.log), and all the most recent log entries were for the weather plugin having updated about five minutes before I ran gbpvr.

Crap; I think I just figured out my problem... am I correct in my new belief that I have to stop the recording service to get log information? Anyway, that's what I just did, and I now have the missing log entries showing up.

No, you should not have to stop the recording service for log entries to be logged. You can look at the source code of the weather plug-in for an example.
