Channel Logos - UK Freeview

I thought it would be nice to give something back to the Group...

After re-tuning for some new Channels here in the U.K., I searched for "Channel Logos" for the channels I watch/record based on :

http://www.freeview.co.uk/whatson/index.html
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/terrestrial/...wlogo=true

(but renamed to match the actual GBPVR Channel names).

Please find these in the ZIP file attached - it should save other UK GBPVR users having to duplicate the effort.

A few notes:
- The logo for "Teachers' TV" is only displayed correctly by plug-in "Xguide". However, the standard "TV Guide" does not find it properly. I suspect it contains a file open routine that does not expect single quotes in a filename ???

- I could not find a recent logo for either of "Motors TV" or "Sky Travel".


Installation Instructions:
- Unzip the attached ZIP file.
- Copy all image files to the directory:

<DRIVE>:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\media\ChannelLogos\

where <DRIVE> is usually "C", or wherever your Applications are installed.

I used your site it to:
- ADD: a logo for "Motors TV"
- UPDATE: the logo for "Sky Travel" (though was was same pic, just different dimensions)

Both have been tested OK in "Xguide" and "TV Guide" in my GB-PVR & these new Channel logos displayed fine.

See updated bundle of all Channel logos attached.

P.S. I should have mentioned in my original post that this collection is merely for those Channels I have selected as my favourites. It may be missing logos for some other Channels.

Hi. Just extracts to a file called "media"!!!!!

Hi Darx-starz

The "media.zip" uncompresses into:

media\
media\Channel Logos\ - this contains all the GIF & JPG files
media\Channel Logos\BAK - empty (temporarilly contained all my previous Logos)

Look at your GBPVR installation direction,
e.g. C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr
and you should find a corresponding ".\media\Channel Logos\" folder.

Hope that's cleared things up.

Hi Tim,

No problem - that was my aim after all :-).

I have just cleaned up my "media/ChannelLogos/" folder, finding many of my .JPG files redundant, as there seem to be good, crisp .GIF files for most of my Channels.

To be honest, I'm no longer sure anymore which are standard GBPVR & which I have added.

A quick test on my setup and they all seem to display fine in the TVGuide for GBPVR9413 (apart from "Teachers' TV").

Have just uploaded them again as "media.zip".

There are no standard ones. The directory is empty in the installation. In one release recently I did accidently include some, but they were gone in the next release.

I've just done a clean install of 9516 and it didn't create any subdirectories under 'media'.

Out of curiosity, once you copied my media logos into the GBPVR installation, does the logo for "Teachers' TV" now display properly in "TV Guide" in GBPVR 95xxx ?

(Available here in the U.K. between 00:00-06:00 and being unusual as has a single quote in the Channel name).
