Scheduled recordings disappearing

So I am a bit perplexed and not really sure what is going on. Recently my PVR has just stopped recording shows that I have asked it too. I would set the reoccurrence to record but no instances of it will show in the pending category. I at one time set the “do not record duplicates” setting and I thought it may be my problem after reading other posts but I checked and it is not checked currently. Even on some shows it will record some but then for some reason not record the next week. I thought they were just repeats and it didn’t record by my mom has a Comcast PVR and it recorded them for her.

I looked at my version number today and it was 94.8 and I read there were some problems so I upgraded to 94.13 hoping that would fix the problem. None of the recordings would reappear. One in particular is the World Poker Tour. So what I did was remove all of my reoccurrences and start over. I first checked after removal to make sure I had no pending and they were clear. I then went in and set my EMP to go 14 days in advance and pulled the information from Zap2It. Then I set up each occurrence and when I was done I checked to see if the pending were there.

SUCCESS!!

All of the programs I setup were scheduled to record.

Lost
My Name is Earl
Biggest loser
Iron Chef America
The Office

And a couple more that are slipping my mind as I type

So they are all there and set to record and there were 3 WPT”s to record today alone. I was happy until I came home from shopping and went to watch a WPT and there was nothing there. There was nothing new to watch and when going into pending half of all the shows now did not show up. None of the WPT’s were even available. I looked at the guide and one was starting in 5 minutes and I did a record on it and it wouldn’t even record.

This is very frustrating.

The “do not record duplicates” is not checked but I am thinking that maybe it thinks it is or something.

My system is an XP system with all updates

2 capture cards… Hauppauge 150 and 350

Any thoughts would be appreciated

Are you running any plug-ins or other things that might be pruning duplicates for you? If you have a postepdgupdate.bat file you might look to see what is in it. The video archive plug-in will also proune duplicate rcordings if you have enabled it to do so.

Hey Jeff,

Thanks for the reply. I once played with the autoarchive feature but never got it to work and that was versions ago. I hadn't even thought of it and I did have that bat file with the autoarchive in it.

I renamed the bat file and have setup my shows again and I am going to keep my fingers crossed. I thought something strange was happening and it must have decided to start working after upgrading to a previous version.

Thanks for the tip and of course I will post if that doesn't fix the problem but I have a feeling it will.

Sounds to me like you are using CDK scheduler which is the scheduler within the XRecord plugin to schedule your recordings.

This does not add shows to "pending" until after the PostUpdateEPG.bat file is run. This as its name suggests is run after the EPG is updated. I've set up a custom task within GBPVR so I can run it whenever I want....

if you xrecord includes rectracker which purnes dups as well. in postupdateepg.bat
