If anyone is interested I just got this combo set-up on my sdtv using the component in & I have to say the picture is amazing.

It is a strong clean picture without any shadows or interference at all.
Plus, the catalyst control panel lets you force games to the 30 mhz refresh rate that my TV seems to like.

The desktop flicker's, but GBPVR menus & video is crisp.
