Hi all,

Just recently discovered GB-PVR and looking to get some kit to use its great abilities!
I currently have Digital DVB-T Freeview, and also Analogue cable TV (Yes, analogue cable TV!).
When I moved in I piped tv cables and installed a wired network throughout the house to each room. I am now looking to utilize some of it!

First and foremost is the question, can I get 2 x analogue and 2 x DVB-T tuner cards, or 2 x hybrids which do both digital and analogue, and this will all work ok with gb-pvr?
The reason I would want to keep the analogue is because they pump Sky One down the analogue cable, but I can't get that on the DVB-T.
I guess ideally I would like to get a programme guide which lists all the channels from the digital (digital EPG), plus Sky One from the analogue cable system (presumably this would use the web for a tv guide listing?).
Not sure if this is possible ...

The DVB-T tuners I am looking at is the WinTV Nova-T PCI card tuner, which sells for around £40 at Pc World. I am looking to get a couple of these so I can watch and record at the same time.
That is if I can't do dual analogue AND digital at the same time!?

Anybody any suggestions for good tuner cards that would suit my purpose?
Anybody know any cheap places to buy these from?

I am also looking to get a couple of Hauppauge Media MPV's so I can watch/control all this from the bedroom and the living room.
I can't seem to find anywhere that has these in stock, tried the usual ebuyer, dabs, etc no joy. Are they not making them anymore? Anybody know where I can get a couple from?

Any and all help would be most appreciated for a newbie!Smile

I had 2 analogue cards and two dvb-t (nova-t and the nova-t usb2) cards working at the same time, but I was using the tuners on the analogue for channels 1-5 and the dvb-t for the freeview channels. I use Alan birtles xmltv listing download http://www.birtles.org.uk/xmltv to grab 14 days of epg.
I don't think the hauppauge hybrid cards will do analogue and dvb-t at the same time.
I have a mediamvp if you want to buy it off me, it's out of warranty (if its a two year warranty then it's in warranty with approx 6 months left) but works fine I basically don't have a need for it now i moved into a smaller place. PM if your interested in it, if your not interested novatech have them http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specp...?HAU-01004. The reason you might be having trouble getting one is the wireless version has been coming out for the last 9 months but it isn't here yet.

I would add a PVR-500 for your analog (dual tuner).
If you only need one analog channel at a time, get a PVR-150.
They work seamlessly with gbpvr and the Nova-T's.
You can never have enough tuners!
Pentium Quad / 4Gb Dual Channel RAM / XPSP3 / 2 x PVR-500, PVR-250 / GB-PVR

Thanks for the responses. I am now testing the water having purchased a single nova-t (working fine) and a single media mvp which I managed to purchase from the local Pc World for just £36 ... however it was a customer return (the only one they had). Its a version D3A so I thought what the hell, i'll give it a go ... I can always take it back if it doesn't work! On to the nightmare!

I have set everything up, the MVP is connected to the PC via an ADSL router which is acting as a DHCP server. The pc gets an IP, my netgem freeview box (which has net access) gets an IP, but whatever I do I just can't get this MVP to work ... it just flashes between the two boxes on the screen. Never worked yet ...
I have unplugged the freeview box where I know its definately connected ok and replaced it with the MVP .. still no joy.

I have installed the hauppauge software (latest beta version 25.23209)
I have both MVP services running fine.
I'm running Windows XP Pro, firewall turned off and no software firewall.

Yet it doesn't work ...
Am I missing something really stupid here or do I have a faulty Media MVP?

Is there any way I can find out if the MVP has obtained an IP address?
I have tried pinging the available range of IP's my router is set to assign, and I get nothing back ... doesn't look to hopeful!

Please help otherwise it looks like its back to the shop with the MVP!

Use 'Services' to set both of the Hauppauge services to manual or disabled. Start the GB-PVR Config app and find the Playback tab then set 'Number of servers to autostart' to be 1. Restart your machine.

On my cheapie adsl modem/router I can use the web interface to see the DHCP table of allocated IP addresses - have you something similar? Mac address of the MVP should be on a label underneath.

Something like:=

IP Address MAC Address
192.168.1.5 00-0D-87-D2-66-0A
192.168.1.6 00-09-6B-64-53-66
192.168.1.7 00-0D-FE-00-53-05
192.168.1.10 00-0C-29-61-F4-E4
