Noticed lots of new names lately, just wondering how people discovered GBPVR. I stumbled across it on a Google search.

Me too, after spending two months trying to get MediaPortal working/stable and deciding trying an alternative might be a better idea...

I also found it through Google but think I had stumbled across the name in another pvr forum but can't remember where.

Much pain with MythTV drove me to look elsewhere. A search on another forum brought up raves about GB-PVR. I have never looked back. It continues to boggle my mind how feature loaded and straightforward this software is. It has been very enjoyable.

I read a newspaper article which mentioned the BYOPVR site, which in turn pointed me to GBPVR. Never looked back.

I found it on the Hauppauge website. Hauppauge had GBPVR listed as alternative MVP server (they took the link away in the mean time).

Voice from above Big Grin
I got my first capture card on a whim, then downloaded every available piece of software I could find to watch TV, and record.
I hated most of them, and found that gbpvr wouldn't work with my current card (easily).
The next day, I purchased a PVR-250 and the rest, as they say, is history Big Grin
You can never have enough tuners!
