After many efforts, I decided to separate the PVR functionality out of my home PC. Through ebay and on a very limited budget I managed to get a decent micro atx case, and an AMD 1600+ (1.4Ghz) with 256 MB of RAM, and a decent motherboard with S3 ProsavageDDR graphics card integrated.

I am using the regular monitor output for my LCD tv (which has a HD15 input). Everything is working well except that, well, the graphics card is giving me a hard time. VMR 9 shows an upside down picture. VMR 7 gives awful dark picture. THe only one which worked halfway decent is Overlay manager, but the 'mini guide' and top bar which GBPVR shows (or the mouse navigation buttons that show on screen when you move the mouse over) are all boxy (very obvious pixelation). What could be the problem? I loaded the newest driver and still no change.

Thanks!
Setup: AMD 1.4 GHz, 256 MB RAM, 128 MB Video Card, 200 GB HDD, PVR-150 MCE

This could be caused by the video decoder you're using.

Thanks Sub. I actually changed the video decoder and had slight improvement. However, I installed ffdshow and it worked like magic! The VMR9 no longer flips, and the screen looks smooth and clean.

However the only thing is that playback and live TV is a bit choppy on my 1.4Ghz system; I guess I need to change the settings a bit. Will upgrading to PVR-150 improve this? I know it improves on Encoding the video as it does it using the hardware decoder; but will I see any changes as far as viewing live TV is concerned?

Thanks!
