I was about to say, "if it ain't broke", but I saw the part about fixing the tuner vol bug (I had a channel lost to it).

It fixes it. Only 5min of testing and 10 channel flips, but so far, it seems fine all around. Looks about the same. It's possible it's less sharp by a hair, but I could also be just a tweak-freak looking too hard (probablity: high)

Let me know how recordings look....last time up upgraded drives (which I think was 10/14/05) the recordings suddenly had the ultra-white bug appear that I have read about in other forums. Reverting to the drivers that came with the card (which are 10/06/04) fixed the ultra-white bug.

I like to keep up to date on things but after my last experieince I do take the "If it ain't broke....don't fix it" approach with the PVR-150 drivers.

With much of my hardware I jump on new drivers but with Hauppauge, I almost never do. Mine's working too good for me to take a chance.
If there are many kind testers that do update, please let us know your opinions.

Have been watching all night...looks fine to me. I had problems w/ the drivers released on the Haup site, so I was wary. It's been worth doing for me, as far as I can tell. Your results may vary.

My advice is do a restore point, and try them. The update doesn't require all the uninstalling first.

The fact that you don't have to uninstall has got to be a first for Hauppauge. Does it actually say that you don't have to or did you just install over the old drivers? That certainly does seem unusual.
Thanks for the update.

Since it's more normal to update a driver w/o uninstalling them on an almost forensic level, it's more like they finally gave their process some thought.

It was run, update, restart. It even keep my tweak settings. I know it worked, becase I got a channel back that the tuning bug lost.

I have just updated my drivers without any issue, and I'm hoping that this will fix the much discussed 'timing bug' on the 150.

Everything looks okay so far, I've just scheduled 3-4 recordings through the night to see how they turn out.

Fingers crossed, eh?

Did an install over the top and lost sound and video tuning. Oh, well, back to 23258! Never fails to amaze me how 150 dvrs can work so differently on different machines.
