I am just learning to use My Music; its installed and the lists work OK, but I am trying to get the "automatic thumbnails" to work like in My Videos. Its doesnt seem to work quite the same way.

Will it "automatically" go off and find the right thumbnails?

I put a .jpg file in one of the album folders, but all it did was display that .jpg. Plus I have alot of album folders......doesnt seem to make sense.

Anyone have some quick pointers? Thanks

it looks for "folder.jpg/png/gif" or "default.jpg/png/gif". but thats only for folders, im pretty sure you cant display an image for individual music files.

reven,
I'm just trying MyMusic for the first time, and see 2 issues with icons.
As background, my folders are as follows:
F:\My Music\artist-name\albumtitle for example:
F:\My Music\Paul Simon\Graceland
In this case, there is album art, folder.jpg, in the Graceland folder.

1. Viewing top level, with View:Icons selected, Paul Simon just appears as a folder icon, not as album art. [I understand this, but more on it in #2 below.] When I hit OK (MVP remote) on the Paul Simon folder, it takes me to a 'window' with 2 icons. The first is the Up icon, and next to it is the Graceland icon. Unfortunately, the Graceland icon appears as a folder icon, not as the album art. If I hit > to move to the Graceland folder, it suddenly changes appearance to the album art. Instead, when it went to this window, where the displayed folders had album art, it should have displayed the art rather than a folder icon.
How can I get this to work correctly?

2. A more minor but related issue: The folder structure was created by Windows Media Player when I ripped the CD. The folder structure is obviously sensible, and it makes sense at the top level to only display a folder icon rather than album art IF there are in fact multiple albums under that artist's folder. However, if there is only a single album under an artist it would be nicer, IMHO, to display that album art at the top level for the artist. As it is, my top-level display consists of almost exclusively of folder icons, even though most of the artists have only one album.
I think there are two ways to think about this. The first is to sort of 'look down' 1 level to find art if there is only one album under the artist. The second might be to sort of 'pull up' the album folder entirely when there is only 1 album under the artist.
Can you think of an easy way to change this display paradigm? If you don't think everyone would want that, is it possible to have make it an option?
Thanks for your support.

Cheers .... Bob

reven,

1. I tried to provide enough description that the problem would be clear and unambiguous to you so you could provide the most meaningful response so as not to waste your time or mine.

2. I was using the version downloaded from the Wiki from 2 days ago. Is that not the latest? If not, where do I find it.
