Hi,
I have just installed version 95.16 of GB-PVR. I experience two problems.

1) My PC will no longer go into standby. I have tried to disable the screen saver but that did not make any difference. Previously I was using version 94.13 and that one worked as expeced. It seems, that closing the Recording Service makes the PC go into standby again, however, that does not give musch meaning Wink

2) When I select Live TV, I get a black screen and choppy sound the first time I select Live TV. I press ESC and select Live TV again and Voila! Picture and sound without any problem! This also happended with 94.13.

3) The old problem, that selecting a source connected to the S-Video input is black and white sometimes, is there any progress on this topic?

My config is: ASUS Pundit-R, Windows XP Home Danish, SP-2 plus updates. There has been no updates installed from 94.13 to 95.16. Hauppauge PVR-350, newest driver installed.

Regards
Jesper

Yeah i've found mine stays up now and doesn't hibernate. I always thought it was something to do with the web admin, since if i used that i'd always noticed that it stayed up.

I've not seen anyone mention anything like this in a long long time. I do remember some PVR350 users (about two years ago) indicating they had to set it to use svideo2 to get color.

Alternatively, you could editing the direct.ini file and set ForceStandard=16 which might help.

I will try this. Thanks Sub. Do you have any idea why it will not go into standby anymore?

This may be unrelated to your setup, but I had also recently found that my GBPVR failed to go into hibernation mode. I did finally track this down to GBPVR being the culprit.

I had been playing around with specifying the gbpvr.mdb path in config.xml as UNC (\\wmcxp\gbpvr\) rather than the default (c:\program files\ etc...) so I could have the database available from another machine for streaming. Once I changed this back from UNC to the defaule the PC would hibernate once more. All a bit odd!

I have the same problem.
I did a complete new install (XPpro and GBPVR)
installed the latest GBPVR and all the software to get a PVR-350 working and thats it nothing else.
Everything works fine with GBPVR but the system just will not go in to standby or hibernate until i remove the GBPVR progs running in the background.

I have not confirmed this yet, but I get a feeling that if my EPG is empty, my computer will not hibernate. When I have something in the EPG it does hibernate without problems. I will need to do some more testing first, though. (Still don't have internet access att home after my move...)
I'm not always right

hmmm will have to see if this does anything to change it. thanks
How does the pc decide when to go in to standby/hibernate mode, is it based on what percentage of the cpu is being used?
