I have just setup my nova-t usb2 on my new pvr after having it running fine on a test machine.
Now when i go into live to i get the above message.

I am sure i have set everything ok. The ir app is running in the system tray.

Any ideas?

It looks like you've configured your capture source to use the Hauppauge IR Blaster. This is only included with the PVR150, and is for controlling an external set top box. Set your channel changer to 'None'

Sub: I'm struggling to understand a problem I've having related to the Hauppage remote which came with my Hauppage 500 MCE card I got.

I saw your post above (after I was getting the same error reported) I did as you suggested, set my channel changer to none. I can still scroll the channel guide, but it doesn't triiger the channel which via the IR to the satellite receiver so I can't switch channels (probably becuase it is now "turned off" as per your advice.

I also have no controls with the Hauppage remote in Live TV, except to be able to exit out. The Hauppage card I got came with a remote (I'm assuming the 34 button version silver one) since I looked at pictures of the 45 button and it doesn't look the same as mine). The Hauppage card came with a CD but as best as I can tell, only had the card driver (no Hauppage software that I can tell). The IR blaster does seem to work to navigate the main GBPVR menu and to select thje diferent options, but once past that main menu, the remote is basically useless/disabled.

What am I missing here? Soory a real newbie here. Everything else in my set up seems to be working perfectly, just no control over the satellite cable box.

Desperate for help. Sorry for the long post (FYI I do not use any MVP type in my set-up, and I am running under XP Pro SP2.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

The PVR500MCE doesnt normally come with a remote, but I have seen recently they introduced a retail bundle for this device which includes an MCE remote, so I guess thats what you've got.

Have you tried setting your remote type to 'MCE' in the config app? The should allow you to navigate GB-PVR.

There is no built in support for the type of IR Blaster included in this Hauppauge remote receiver/blaster combo. You might be able to get it working using HIP or Girder (third party software).
