I seem to be stalling on setup when I come to setup the epg source. The only xml file on my machine in the gb-pvr install folder is config.xml, but if I use this I don't seem to get any listings. I'm in the UK if it makes any difference....

Regards

You will need to run a program that grabs TV guide data from the Web and puts it in an XML file. GBPVR will then read this XML file to create the list of channels and the EPG.

Look at http://sourceforge.net/projects/xmltv for the xmltv utility (there also is a Win32 version) or maybe one of your fellow Brits can post a link for specialized UK grabbers that seem to be available as well.

Hi Jules,

I would start off with using GrabEPG. It's a simple GUI and can be scheduled to grab EPG listing from bleb.org in an XMLTV format. It grabs listings quick and is easy to set up. Config GBPVR to points to the xml file it generates. GrabEPG is great but the source of data isn't so great. Its free so can't complain but it's limited by the number of channels and sometimes the acuracy of the data.  Check the thread below out for info, or post any specifc questions:

http://gbpvr.com/cgi-bin....grabepg

I've tried using XMLTV, but it's extremely slow if you are grabbing even a modest number of channels for only 7 days (runs into hours) so start off with GrabEPG and work from there.

Hope this helps, Rob
