I have a Nova-T which I use to capture freeview in the UK and it works a dream. I also have NTL digital via a set top box and have been given a PVR-150MCE Big Grin. I'm trying to install it to capture the NTL service and now have it working in WinTV.

However when I try to add a second capture source in GBPVR I get an error message as follows

Quote:The drivers for the device you have configured do not seem to be installed. Are you sure you want to save the current settings
. The drivers are installed and show under device manager and work fine with WinTV!!

The driver version I have is - pvr150_23257

No matter what settings I try I can't get this card to be recognised by GBPVR. Any advice or pointers would be much appreciated.

They should both be set to device #1. You increase this when you have multiple cards of the same type.

Thanks Sub. That wasn't clear to me from the Wiki or reading on the forums, but seems to have fixed it. Smile

To save me a bit more reading and time experimenting what should the the source be for a Digital cable box if it is hooked up via composite? The scan on WinTV picks up the STB on channel 84 Should I set it to Fixed external Tuner and sort the channel switching manually and ultimately with a blaster or can I use another setting for better results? As yet I can't get scart output detected in WinTV

Thanks again for excellent support.

Fixed channel is supposed to be used when you have connected the cable box to the card via an coax cable only. If you have connected via composite or scart/s-video you should choose “Composite, External Tuner” or “S-Video, External Tuner” in the config app for gbpvr.

Stefan, thanks for the info. Sadly neither configuration currently works. At present I have the Digital STB connected to the PVR-150 via coax. With fixed channel selected and channel 84 which is the channel that WinTV tuner finds the Cable box signal on. All I get with this is Static (picture and sound) and and osd for a channel I don't have??

With the Scart out from the STB connected to the composite I get a purple screen.

To add to my woes the pc has crashed badly a few timers when I open the config app. So I'm going to have to troubleshoot that as well.

As I said before I can record fine with WinTV so I would guess it must be a GBPVR config issue somewhere. As to the System crash well I'll start with drivers for the PVR-150 and see if later/earlier versions clear it up.

Any one out there with NTL Digital Cable out there with a Pace STB if you can you let me know how you got it to work I'd be most gratefull.

Thanks all.

I don't think channel 84 in wintv2000 is channel 84 in gbpvr? Hook the STB up with the coax again, and run the tuningassistant and see if it can find your STB. It will show which channel number you should use in gbpvr.

i havnt got a pace box, but i have got a samsung ntl, which from what ive read is very similar internally. Im no technician though so i wouldnt have a clue if thats true or not.

Anyway, i had similar problems. Feeding a scart into the composite of my 350 resulted in a b&w picture on Composite 2 and nothing on Composite 1.
If i fed it to the svideo input i got a b&w picture when selecting svideo 2 and nothing on svideo1. i also remember getting a picture that was sort of divided into big blocks with different tints in each? maybe i was drunk at the time cos i could never reproduce it...

The settings of the ntl box has a 'output set to' --> RGB or Composite option

changing this to composite and then going back to GBPVR and recreating the source via composite 2 resulted in a really good colour picture in GBPVR. The day after though, it was back to being b&w and im not sure why but not been able to get the colour back.

in the end, the only consistant way ive found of feeding the ntl into the 350 is via the ariel/coax input. im not sure if this is a 350 driver issue or a NTL issue but im inclined to think its the STB. its slow and sluggish and a bit pants really.

EDIT: stefans right i think i found the same thing. My box is outputting on chanel 57, maybe try that before going to the Tuning assistant.

Thanks guys I now have a decent signal using the coax on channel 103. The scan produced a load of piped analogue signals as well. I eventually managed to identify the one I need to use.

I am going to try hooking up via composite later to try and improve the signal. The coax gives a fairly average picture set to composite. I shall have a go at getting a decent RGB signal capture via scart later.

Now I need to get a decent IR Blaster from somewhere and I'm good to go!!!

Thanks again

Your pvr-150 didn't come with a blaster? Anyhow, if you want one that is "guaranteed" (well, as close as it gets) to work, the usb-uirt is the choice: http://www.usbuirt.com

No its a PVR-150MCE and OEM at that so just the card nothing else. Shame really because with the setup I now have I have 3 remotes and no BlasterSad

I was investigateing the usb-uirt but according to their site the UK version is unavailable at present. If anyone in the uk has a spare blaster I'd be interested. Or for that matter if anyone needs a remote I'm your manBig Grin
