Channels Pictures gone?

Hi Sub,

I have upgraded to 0.17 on two machines and have lost my Channel pictures on both. I am using the same xmltv file as before and have checked that the .jpgs are there and the names of the channels are still the same as the pictures. So from my side nothing has changed as from when I was using 0.16 but the pictures are not shown anymore. Any ideas?

Yeah I noticed that too, either with the zap2it or xmltv. Not a big deal, I didn't really like them anyway. Perhaps in future we could have an option to turn them on or off?

GB-PVR looks for an channel image with the same name as the channel + .jpg, .gif or .png. If it finds one in the Media\ChannelLogos directory, then it displays it.

The XMLTV feed contains URLs that can be used to download the icons, so GB-PVR downloads these images and saves them with the correct file names to save you the manual work.

Unfortunately the zap2it feed does not contain any information about the image associated with each channel, so you'll have to it manually by saving images with the same name as the channel. Painful I know, but there is no way GB-PVR can find the image with out someone telling it where to find them. All of the pictures are available on http://www.satlogo.com (good quality too) but there is now way to guess the URL.

I had thought about distributing a simple file that users could help me extend that contain the mapping. GB-PVR could use this to auto download images. It'd contain something like:

DISC, http://www.satlogo.com/logo/tv/dd/disney_channel.jpg
TOON, http://www.satlogo.com/logo/tv/dd/cartoon_network.jpg
...etc

I cant to this automatically because the image names are inconsistent on satlogo.com

Hi again,

I followed your instructions before and individually downloaded each missing logo from satlogo and renamed them as per the channel with a .jpg extension. It worked exactly as it should have in 0.16, it just doesn't work anymore with 0.17. Before I had about half which automatically gave the correct logo but even those don't anymore.

Anybody else having trouble with this?

I didn't believe you there for a minute.

My mistake, I must of left them disabled when I was makeing changes to the skins in the weekend. To enable them edit "C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\skin\Blue\tv guide\skin.xml". Search for showChannelIcons="false" and replace it with true.

Thanks sub.  I prefer having them off, so now I know how to do that when you turn them back on   .

Perhaps a check box in config in some future release.
