i used to only use my MVP to view GBPVR,but now that i'm using both it and the main machine, i didn't like the power key behavior and am pretty sure there's no other way to fix outside of major modifications by Sub so i made a little app to handle my grnpower button for the remote of my pvr150..
basically what it does is make the green power button work like you'd want it to..when you hit the power button it will:
if gbpvr isn't running it will start it,if it's not active it will make it active,if it's active it will hit f12-[default power plugin] Smile

all of which USED to work by setting "GRNPOWER={run(c:\progra~1\devnz\gbpvr\gbpvr.exe)}" in the [default] section of irremote.ini......till i started using the MVP again...Sad
then it would give focus to the MVP server app window when i ran gbpvr.exe again..
so i created this little app that uses the window title to tell the difference..
[mvp server title is not 'GBPVR',it's 'GBPVR MediaMVP Server']
just put it in your [default] section like GRNPOWER={run(c:\progra~1\devnz\gbpvr\gbpvrun.exe)}
and it should also work for other remotes too..
it also sets the priority high to solve those nasty 30 sec jitters in playback..
so far no ill consequences from that but i can change it if requested..
[actually it's an Auto-It script that you can de-compile and edit yourself...and Auto-It is free Smile]

HI pBS,

I'm looking at your starter upper program again.

When I first looked at your other post on 2-26-06 for this I thought that this program will run GB-PVR in the background with the remote so that focus is not an issue. Now that I look at this post, it sounds like focus needs to be active.

I'm trying to get this focus issue resolved, so that I can use my Hauppauge remote while my wife surfs on the net.Smile

Some people are able to fix this and some aren't which seems strange. I actually had it working for awhile with a different irremote.ini from grahamm but it just doesn't work anymore for either of us.

Thanks,
GaretMax

mine actually only 'sets' the focus for you...it replaces the startup command for gbpvr in my irremote.ini [so can work with other remotes]
i assign it to my green power button in irremote.ini...

so when i hit green power button, if gbpvr not running, it starts it, if gbpvr not active focus,it gives it focus, if it has focus,it runs default power plugin to shut down gbpvr...
so what that means is, if gbpvr not in focus, first press will bring it back into focus....second press will go to shutdown [system] screen...
if gbpvr not running, first press will start it up...it should have focus...
make any sense?
yes, mine doesn't let you work on computer and gbpvr same time...whoever has focus will get remote signals..
you can use hip or girder to send specific messages to gbpr only but you have to make them universal systemwide type hotkeys to do so...

mine is more for those of us who use the other monitor occasionally or don't have one connected or just keep losing focus...
it turns the power button into a 'gimmee-focus/power' button..Smile

Thanks for the info pBS.

I'm going to give my USB-UIRT another try again and possibly try HIP as I'm really looking to work on the computer and use GB-PVR at the same time without having a focus or active window issue.
