The last two times I've used the every so reliable GBPVR to record a show - it's cut the recording short - last night it only recorded for 44 seconds - out of over an hour!

Any way we can see what is going wrong?

Did the computer go into standby? I'm having a new problem recently of the computer waking for a recording, then falling back into standby within minutes. Then when the computer wakes again (manually or GBPVR) it starts the interrupted recording for a moment, then stops because the time has passed, leaving a very short, incorrect recording.
What, me worry?

have u check the gbpvr-reccordingservice*.log files in the gbpvr folder to see if there are any errors reported?

according to the log - it finished on time! The recording it only 44 seconds long - and not 1 hour and 10 mins!

Its usually not a good sign when recordings stop mid way through.

GB-PVR effectively sets up the recording, then tells it to start. It doesnt do anything more with that recording until it's time to tell it to stop. If it stops somewhere in between these two points, then chances are your device has stopped producing data. One thing that can cause this is if the device is sharing an IRQ with another device.

Also, if you have a PVR150 or PVR500, its worth checking the filesize. There seems to be some bugs in these devices (or their drivers) that can cause the recordings to have broken timestamps embedded in the file. If this is the case, you'll have big normal size files, but when you play them they may report some much shorter time than expected.

I'm using a new(ish) Nova-T.

Recording size is too small - that was first alerted me to the problem - only 11MB or something.

Will check the IRQ. It's been fine for ages though.......

Ah, a digital device. If you experienced a drop in signal strength, the mux filter may have decided to stop producing data. What mux are you using?

Post the output from the included MuxChecker utility, and what mux you have selected on the 'misc' tab of the config app.
