Slow epg update

Hey....

First of all, Gbpvr really rocks.

I do have a problem, hence this thread.
When i do a manuel epg update Gbpvr takes about 45 min to load it.

I use xmltv and have 16 channels loaded. It doesn't matter wether it contains 1 or 7 days, gbpvr takes about the same time updating the epg.

During this update gbpvr uses only about 1-4% cpu.

I'm by no means an expert so this is kind of a shot in the dark, but I've had this problem too and it seems like the more recorded shows you have sitting on you PC, the longer the epg update takes. Maybe gbpvr has to keep those older show description entries in the database and that slows it down? Can any one else verify this? Feel free to tell me I'm completely wrong

It'll probably be something to do with the <icon> URLs specified in your xmltv file. If you look in the config.exe.log, it'll probably have some message about timing out trying to retrieve the icons.

If that is the case, you can try setting <XMLTVDownloadIcons>false</XMLTVDownloadIcons> in config.xml
