Just looking for some advise on whether or not to use the Microsoft MCE remote or the Hauppauge remote control?

Anyone tried both before?

I've used both before and while the Hauppauge has better native support there's something really natural and familiar with the MCE one. MCE would get my vote (just).

Yeah, I must say the MCE remotes do feel pretty nice in your hand.

First, I just ordered the MCE remote and don't have it yet but missed using one since I got my pvr 500.
I was using pvr350 and wanted dual tuner support since my wife seems to need things I don't like, recorded at the same time my favorite shows are on. It's worked very well for me. After a few problems, mostly on my part, setting it to work, all has been fine. I am not using the latest drivers yet.
PCalchemy may have the 500 bundled with the MCE remote so give them a check before you make up your mind.
