Hi

I used to use the VMR, but had to switch to the Overlay Manager (third option on th config screen) when I used the resume video option (otherwise that resume/restart option box didnt seem to appear and one couldnt watch the program!)

However with the Overlay Manager you cant change the aspect ratio anymore as far as I can see and this cuts off the top and bottom of the screen on most shows.

Any idea how to get the the aspect ratio to change again or to be right?

Cheers

There is no aspect ratio control with Overlay - only VMR7 and VMR9. Sorry.

Thanks for reply. Any idea how I can get round this? My thoughts are
1 - some other video decoder?
2 - some fix of the NVDIA settings to change the sapect ratio
3 - disable the on screen bits so I can go back to VMR9

Cheers

What exactly wasnt working with VMR9 for you?

If the video paused, without the resume prompt being visible, did pressing the left or right arrow make it reappear?

last time i had this it was the skin's fault,i hadn't updated it for the new features that GBPVR has so there was something wrong in the dialog in it...but i could press left or right and then ok to make it work even tho i couldn't see it...
[it never went visible for me with any keystrokes]
i was using the blueMCE2 skin..
updated it and works fine now...

Indeed when I press left or right on the remote the 'resume/restart' box does not appear, even though if I press OK it does whichever action it would be on if I could see it!

I will try updating the skin - I use the standard default blue and I assumed that when I downloaded the latest version of GBPVR and installed it, the skin would be right?

If you're using the standard blue skin, that shouldnt be the problem.

Can you reproduce the problem, then zip and attach you gbpvr.exe.log and gbpvr.exe-native.log files?

I think this is because you're using the Cyberlink decoder with VMR. The Cyberlink decoder isnt compatible with VMR by default. You need to add some Cyberlink registry settings to get this working. Google for 'Cyberlink EnableVMR9' and your should turn up some info on these registry settings.

Thanks - I tried switching decoder to Inetrvideo from Default and I had no problems with the VMR overlay and could get better aspect ratios - all great except the quality of the image (especially on pure black) seems a bit poor.

I would love to stick with Cyberlink but enable VMR 9 - I have done some googling and can find nothing of any help except on another page in this forum (http://forums.gbpvr.com/printthread.php?...ge=2&pp=10) where it suggests changing the following:

HKLM/Software/Cyberlink/Commona/CLVSD/EnableVMR DWORD Value=1
HKLM/Software/Cyberlink/Commona/CLVSD/EnableVMR9 DWORD Value=1

But I also see it depends which Cyberlink version you have perhaps - therefore a couple of ques:
1) how do I tell what cyberlink version I have - I cant find the software anywhere on my computer!
2) where do I copy the above lines of text to - how do I access the 'registry' - where is it?
3) are the above lines enough or do I need to do more?

Cheers
