Hi guys,

I had a running system. Then I noticed that my pvr 500 had a hardware problem. So I took the card out, removed the gbpvr software and set it up again when the new pvr 500 arrived. I also updated the ati graphic card of my pundit-r barebone.
So far I have only the 350 appointed in the gbpvr set up and everything seems to be working fine, except, that I can not watch any live tv.
I deinstalled everything, but I still can not watch any tv and have no sound. Watching recorded shows works fine. I have the nvidia decoder installed, I even deinstalled and reinstalled it to make sure the system properly recognizes everything.
Btw, when scanning the channels (gbpvr scanner), all the different programs appear nice and clear.
Oh, and one more thing, when I click on VMR9, the screen is entirely black, as soon as I click on the “Overlay Manager” I can see the osd information.

I don’t have a clue on what to do next. HELP!!!! If you have any suggestions, they are more than welcome!!!:o

Thanks for your help,

todd

I'm sorry, but are you saying that you have a pvr-500 in your system, but have it configured as a 350? Or that you don't use the 500, but use a 350 instead? Or that you have both?
I'm not always right

Sorry, I have a pvr 500 and a pvr 350 in my computer. But I told gbpvr system only about the 350, to keep thinks simple.

Now that I write these lines ... I will try to change the assingment and take the 350 out of gbpvr and put the 500 in instead.
See what happens.

have you tried changing the board number?
removing/adding/replacing hauppauge cards could lead to reassigned ones...
you possibly try to capture from the 350 and using a board number of the 500...

If you refer to changing the pci slots; not possible in a pundit, they only fit in one way (which sucks and already worked:o )
If you mean the card number in gbpvr, I thought this does not have any impact. But I will change the number asap tonight
Did I miss any approach you mentioned?
Thx for sharing ur thoughts

Yes, this is what he means. The PVR350 is likely to be either device #1 or #3.

yeah i meant the card number (its labeled 'board number' on my installation) in the 'direct recording plugin'-dialog of the capture source config...

it had an impact at least on my machine when i added the second and third tuner...).

o.k., I will do the change. Can I just change the numbers and hit ok, or do I have to reimport epg or something else?
Thanks for your awesome support!!! I will keep you posted tonight.
Cheers, todd

Guys, thanks for your great help!!! I would have never figured that out! I set the pvr 350 to device #2 and the pvr 500 to #1. And both work!!! Thank you!Smile

Cheers todd

P.S.: Just in case you are wondering what happens to the second pvr 500 tuner: It is defect and will be replaced. This is the second pvr 500 card with the same problem…
