I am SO new to this - as you will likely see from my questions. I have had a PVR350 card for quite a few months now and for the most part am very happy with it.
- I have scheduled several recurring recordings and most work. However, the the same shows which will record successfully one day will fail the next. Are there any suggestions as to why this happens?
- When I access the software after it being idle for hours, it is almost always frozen. I need to restart the software to alleviate the problem.
- Do I need to enable the log files? If so - how do I do that and where do I find them?

Thanks for any help!

Next time it occurs, zip and attach your logs files (automatically created in C:\programfiles\devnz\gbpvr\*.log), and a description of what was supposed to record, then I'll take a look.

Are you using the TV-out on your PVR350?

I will likely be able to get you that zip file this evening.

Lockups are extremely common on some setups with the PVR350's TV out. The issue occurs somewhere within the drivers and out of my control. It was this reason that prompted me stop actively supporting the PVR350 or developing new features for it.

Strangely machines (including my own) had no problems at all with it, but it seemed about 50% chance of having problems. Way too high in my book. This prpblem may also be the cause of your other problem, so its probably work disabling the PVR350 tv out to see if it still occurs.

I have attached the log files. Shows that failed today are 'Clean Sweep' 'House of Mouse' 'holmes on Homes' 'Oprah' 'Peep' and others... I don't think a single show recorded successfully today.

btw - thanks for the info on the PVR350 card. I will likely purchase a 150 to see if its better.

You're logging level was set to 'error' so most of the good debug info was missing.

One other thing that can cause failed recordings with the PVR350 is if it is sharing an IRQ with another devices. You can check in the Windows device manager.

Oddly enough - While I have changed nothing - my recordings are working now. I did change the logging level, if the problems come back.

Something did happen tho - all of my 'recurring' recordings duplicated. Since that happened - I had many conflicts. - One for each recurring show. I left it alone and after it had recorded several shows - when I checked the recordings - the same shows would appear in duplicate in the recording list - one as failed and one as ready.

I have attached the log file - I got several failures today. 'Holmes on HOmes' 'Blue's Clues'

I am looking forward to your thoughts.

You didnt attach your logs.

Did you try disabling the tv out on your PVR350 to see it helped?

Did you check it wasnt sharing an IRQ with another device?

I didn't try disabling the TV out yet - I don't know how that is related to my problem. My difficulties aren't with the playback.. its just with the recording. If you think it will matter I can dissconnect it.

There are no IRQ conflicts.

And - sorry about the logs.. here you go!
