Hopefully this is the right place to post this, I did a search and didn't come up with anything recent so I figured wishlist instead of support. Is there any way to do slow motion on a recording? The reason I ask is KFC has now embedded coupons in their commercials that can only be seen by re-running them in slow motion. I expect Taco Bell will be next. They've done this in an effort to combat DVR's and their ability to skip through the commercials.

“For those savvy enough to solve the secret, the prize is a coupon for KFC's new sauce-drenched Buffalo Snacker chicken sandwich.”

Auto-Skipping 15-20 minutes of annoying commercials every hour, is the best “prize” I could ever hope for. Smile

Two part answer:-

Part 1. Assuming that you *want* to watch commercials, why not just use any other mpeg player to do slow motion or pause so you can take down the info you want?

Part 2. My advice would be to eat healthier, you'll (probably) live longer! Smile

Why not cobble together a batch file to run videoredo that will select the commercials, then invert all cuts, then you can create mpg's of the commercials which does seem rather perverse but if you're intent on force feeding yourself with processed fat laden junk food, it would be a more "fun" way of scanning for the info you want. Wink

yeah, i'd actually kind of like this for viewing sports time-shifted, or recorded for that matter. there have been a number of occasions where i've paused and skipped back a few times to re-watch and wished i had a slow-motion replay.

Likewise, it would also be cool to have a capture button (similar, or linked to PrintScreen possibly) for still shots when freezing those great action shots during the game or movie.

I'm haven't programmed anything myself in GBPVR, but it seems it would be a realtime change in frames-per-second linked to a button relative to FWD or RWD. The button would also need multiple stages or a slider for changing the fps. (i.e. 1/2 speed, 2x speed, 4x speed)

Would be nice. Smile

I might be missing the point here. Wouldn't you need a DVR/PVR/VCR to record, and allow for playback to look for this special commercial?

The desire is to incourage people to who use PVR/DVR's to skip commericals to stop and look at the KFC commercial but in effect they encourage the use of the DVR/PVR in order to find the "prize" in the first place.

So to follow this logic we will eventually need "comfinder" in addition to "comskip". It will search commercials for special deals/prizes or whatever cut the relevent info into usable chuncks removing the commercial and leaving just the "prize". Then send a notification to GBPVR's main Screen.

VA Panel:
You have 2 new Commerical Deals waiting.. . . .
