Still not a feature in Next PVR? Come on ...it's football season, and world series is on deck?

I'd like to see that feature too, but I fear it involves A LOT of work...

Why do you think it involves alot of work? I know Sub has a life too, but couldn't he just add a few more lines to the code. In WMC 7 frame advance is just a pause with an advance of a frame(s). Or, Sub already has slow mo programmed (I think), so just give us an option to make it slower (like VLC does)? I'm thinking about trying out this program for my Vista and XP sytems. WMC in Windows 7 is tough to beat. Heck even the cheapo cable boxes do super slow mo.
Are you really from Norway?

You're probably only the second person to ever ask for slow-mo feature, so I cant say it's ever been high on the list. I can least have at whether it's can be added easily. To set expectations appropriately though - I do know it's only possible in the forward direction, not in reverse.

Super slow and/or frame advance option may also be a good selling point since few of the other 3rd party software DVRs offer it. Sub, just curious, would you please tell me what programing language you use, about how many lines of code are in your base NextPVR program, and how you think the NextPVR's picture quality compares with WMC especially in XP and Vista?

The UI is written in C#. The playback code, recording framework and directshow filters are written in C++.

Quote:about how many lines of code are in your base NextPVR program
Its approximately 250,000 lines of source code, covering the front end UI, backend recording service, shared dlls, and the .ax directshow filters.

Compared to WMC it'll be either better or worse depending on decoders and renderer you're using. At the end of the day, NextPVR doesnt decode the streams back to video frames (this is the decoder's responsibility), or draw those frames on the screen (this the renderer's responsibility) so NextPVR doesnt have much impact on the picture quality.

Good. It's coming into summer, which I'm really looking forward to.

I would like it too. I would prefer a frame forward rather than a super-slow-motion.
