Hi,

strange problem:

In music library or net radio, when playing back a file, it seems that the audio is not closed properly to stop playback or start playback of the next one. Hitting "Stop" has no effect, the audio doesn't stop until gbpvr is closed.

Oddly enough, this only happens if I select my pvr350 as hardware decoder device in the config application. Using none (software decoder), it's working normally.

Playing back the files with WMP or other applications still works fine.
Also my own music plugin, which makes use of DirectShow.NET, plays and closes the files from within gbpvr as expected, with or without setting the pvr350 as hardware decoder.

Things I have already tried (without success):
  • logged on and off, restarted windows
  • changed <UseWindowsMediaPlayerForAudio>
  • changed <UseWindowsMediaPlayerForNetRadio>
  • disabled ffdshow audio decoder
  • limited ffdshow audio decoder to one instance
  • tried all available options for Audio Renderer in config
  • Re-installed gbpvr Sad

The log files don't show anything suspicious (in my opinion), however they are attached besides my config.xml.

Any ideas?

Hi,

it would also help a lot if someone who also has the pvr350 could reproduce / confirm this.

I second this post, this is true with this version. Also to note that you can not change to another song/stream. I have not played through an entire song and tried something else afterwards. If you go to the stop button on screen it will stop but no one audio will be played for net and music.

alibert maybe you can answer a few quick questions for me:
<>Are there any PVR350 tricks tips for GBPVR?
<>Are we just stuck to mpeg2 files that we created or can we play wmv's and dvds? (through the tv out)
<>If you've played around with your output settings to stop it from cutting off video edges, have you been successful and if so what are you settings?

Sorry folks, the PVR350 has long since been removed from my machine, and I dont recommend any one uses it.

The best advice is not to use the TV out feature.

The tv out hardware is only capable of viewing standard MPEG2 content, so its not possible to watch DVDs or WMV files.

This will vary from TV to TV. The default settings matched my test TV well.

You know I've been skipping anything that I didn't record and hesitant to try any other mpeg files. However after reading about the possible on the fly conversion I decided why not try it.

... it worked! Not everything worked and the sound was comming out the computer and not the card but it worked!

Also I must be VERY lucky because I have no TV out problem, infact I haven't any GBPVR problems at all except this one, infact I think the older problem of it saying it had run out of memory while looking at a large number of pictures is gone in the new update.

excellet program! I will be contributing when I get myself more on my feet. One question sub, What would you recommend of if you can say recommend what would you think would be a "super" setup besides some capture card and an MVP?

once again, thanks

I'm also quite sure that this problem is only occuring in the latest version (or respectively 96.8) of gbpvr, so maybe there is a chance that it'll be fixed again in a future release.

The only problem I had using the pvr350 was the hibernate-problem, which is solved by restarting the device when waking up from hibernation (you'll find some info by searching the forums).
But I'm more than happy with the tv-output of the card, and hadn't had any other problems so far.

Regarding overscan, I didnt't have any problems - the picture is exactly at the same position as in normal television. Here in germany, a bit of overscan is normal, and that's why I disabled any offset-settings in config.xml:

Code:
<PVR350Width>720</PVR350Width>
  <PVR350Height>576</PVR350Height>
  <PVR350OffsetX>0</PVR350OffsetX>
  <PVR350OffsetY>0</PVR350OffsetY>

On my tv set, this leads to a slightly overscanned picture - but it is identical to the build in tuner of the television.

sub,

do you have an idea of what is causing this in the latest release - I'm sure that it has worked fine before?
And is there a chance that it'll work again in the future?

Thanks,

No, I'm not sure what would have caused this. If I do remember something that caused it, I'll try to correct the issue.

i'm in the same boat...i start a song and can't stop. if i play a video or another song, it just keeps adding it to the output - i have 5 songs playing simultaneously. Any way we can fix this? i use it for playing my mp3's regularly.
