and if anyone knows what does "schedule recording in pc power off mode" mean?

Even if it is supported, a nova-t card costs only £10 - £15 more and has loads of support with new drivers and with GBPVR.

If you buy one mail order or from internet you get 7 days to try it and can get a refund no questions asked if it does not work/you dont like it.

A few years ago someone brought out a TV-Card which was internally connected with the Power-Cordle for the ATX-Connection on the Mainboard.
If you programmed a show, the card was able to "start" the PC and start a recording.
If i remember right this piece of technic wasn't very succesful.

I read elsewhere that it's a rebadged Kworld DVB-T 100, no idea if it has BDA drivers or if it will work with GB-PVR.

Do some more research - if the card has BDA-compliant drivers then the answer is 'Possibly'. If it doesn't then the answer is 'No'.

Search the forums for V-Stream - I can't help feeling that I've seen that name around here somewhere.

Alternatively, as stu8080 says - go for a Hauppauge Nova-t PCI. EBuyer are doing them at £39.99 at the moment.

Cheers,
Brian

I bought 2 this morning, dvbt100, installs something called the

tevion dvbt bda tuner demod driver
tevion dvbt 2388x av stream crossbar
conexant dvbt 2388x video capture
conexant dvbt 2388x transport stream capture

apart from that its not worked yet with its own software, I'm writing this while its scanning for channels, at the speed its going i'll let you know if its found any in about 3 days.........

Seems well made and packed, comes with remote and batteries, little infrared sensor and a useless aerial that they all have.

Worth its money if I can get it working, I dont think its duff just that I'm in a poor signal area.

chipset says.

conexant
BROADCAST DECODER
CX23883-19
52004335
0544 KOREA

one card has the sticker on the tuner, like above picture in earlier post, one card has no sticker, tuner is stamped samsung.

You have to create a section in BDA.INI with a new name and have the correct filter pin names in it.
The filter name has to be exact spelling and it is case sensitive.

someting like this

[Tevion V-Stream BDA DVB-T]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER=tevion dvbt bda tuner demod driver
FILTER_CAPTURE=Conexant 2388x Transport Stream Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

Good luck

ok i'll go and try that........(newbie alerts going off)

Problem with the slow scanning was you have to power down after the software install for the tuning to work, even thought its found the card and installed and says its fine. go figure.

Now its working, performance is, well, poor......

Watching tv is fine, changing channel takes about 7 seconds, starting a recording takes about 5, playing back is 'not of stable framrate' and timeshifting still has me puzzled.

I hope this is just a problem with the bundled software.

(runnig it on a p4 3.4 1gbram 240gb raid array)

EDIT:

Ok tried the bda.ini, tried variations of using TEVION xxx and CONEXANT xxx matching spelling and case to whats displayed by device manager, nothing, I think.....

What I'm doing is quitting everything, editing the ini, running config, setting recording source to BDA recording plugin, clicking settings and setting to card type 'tevion mystery model', then click ok, then click map digital channels to epg chanels, then it bombs and says 'GBPVR was unable to start the device you configured...

I take it thats a failure.......

I will try again but as I have tried..

tevion dvbt bda tuner demod driver
tevion dvbt 2388x av stream crossbar
conexant dvbt 2388x video capture
conexant dvbt 2388x transport stream capture..

in lots of possible combinations it must just not like it.

I wrote all that because I'm new to gbpvr and maybe it was me not doing something right.

But I notinced in the ini a section exists for conexant like this

[Conexant BDA DVB-T]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER=Conexant BDA DVB-T Tuner/Demod
FILTER_CAPTURE=Conexant 2388x Transport Stream Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

So I would have thought that

[Tevion]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER=TEVION DVBT BDA Tuner/Demod
FILTER_CAPTURE=Conexant DVBT 2388x Transport Stream Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

would be the winner.

With the failure I'm getting (card not found/responding) would that mean both driver lines wrong or just first or second line?

A thought just hit me, the bda.ini has drivers settings for conexant, that means some 'drivers' work with both this chipset and gbpvr, so what I need is to dump the aldi supplied tevion drivers, and use the drivers that work........

So, who has a working conexant 2388x card with gbpvr, and what drivers are you using? (presuming tevion have not 'branded' the conexant chip so other drivers wont see it)

I just wrote this on the Wiki.
Use Microsoft GraphEdit to find filter and pin names.
