I would like to see support for DVB Subtitles in GB-PVR.

The DVB Subtitle support should be just like the support for teletext subtitles, that is to sya, record it and display it during playback.

The reason for this request is, that on the 31st of March 2006, the new national DVB-T network in Denmark will have it's debut. DVB Subtitles has been selected as standard for subtitles. So far we still have the analog TV signal as well, but the analog network will be closed down by 2009, so there is some time yet to get the DVB Subtitles support Wink

Sub, Denmark is current not in the list of countries/locations for DVB-T in the configuration program. I can provide the information if you let me know the format you need it in.

When it comes time, just create the appropriate files like those currently in C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\BDA\DVB-T. Post them and I'll include them in the master list.

Teletext subtitles are not supported by all TV operators in Denmark.
Its therefore essential for all us Danes to have a PVR with DVB subtitle support. I have searched all the web and only found a few products supporting DVB subtitles, but they all lack other features like pictures, video and music which your products covers very nice Smile ..........
So if you need any help developing this please let me be your humble servant :-)

Actually Danish television has been transmitting DVB-T since 1. May. (Testtransmissions since February)

Three danish channels are available:
DR1 (DVB subtitles)
DR2 (DVB subtitles)
TV2 (DVB subtitles and teletext subtitles)
+ 20 german channels in my area :-)

I am Using DVBViewer at the moment, which have a very nice TV implementation with DVB subtitles, but it lacks in all other parts like Pictures, Music and videos/DVD.

Oops sorry - I mixed up our 3 national stations :-)
DR1 (DVB subtitles and teletext subtitles)
DR2 (DVB subtitles and teletext subtitles)
TV2 (DVB subtitles)

Yes I have tested teletext subtitles and it works with DR1 and DR2. TV2 does not work as expected.

lol
Many emails have already been send, with the same answer.
DR1 and DR2 will transmit dvb subtitles now and in the future. Teletext subitles will be supported for a period(2-3 years) just for compatibility with older receivers.

TV2 will only transmit dvb subtitles.

So it seems like DVB subtitles is the future in Denmark Smile

Well I don't think I personally can change that decision Rolleyes , so I'll keep looking for a PVR with DVB subtitles support along with my Danish brothers and sisters.
Hopefully GB-PVR will support DVB subtitles in the future.

If you need anything, betatesting, testfiles or danish beer Big Grin - please let me know.

btw. GB-PVR had a problem with the bda graph until I uninstalled MediaPortal. GB-PVR seemed to use some Mediaportal mux thing which made channel scan impossible. When I removed Mediaportal, channel scan worked fine. Smile

Yes, I've noticed a few reports of this. I've taken steps in the next release to stop it interferring.
