input from PVR250, output through GF4 MX440. OS is WIndows XP MCE (Live TV works in MCE).
I'm running the Nvidia decoder and have it selected. Have tried VMR9 and 7.

Any other ideas or info needed?

Thanks!

Stick with either VMR9 and Overlay as these are the most reliable. What MPEG2 decoders are listed as options in the Config app (playback tab)?

thanks for the quick response Sub!

in the drop downs on the playback tab 'system default' and 'Nvidia Video Decoder' are the 2 listed. I've tried both, but both yield no pic on either live TV or DVD (avi, mpeg1, etc all work of course). I just tried overlay and it did not work either.

Are there any known issues w/ the Nividia mpeg2 software?

Install the Hauppauge software that came with you PVR250. It includes the Intervideo MPEG2 decoder.

I've personally never used the Nvidia decoder.

Thanks again for the quick response, it's refreshing to see a developer so heavily involved with supporting their work.

The intervideo decoder worked and Live TV is now functioning, though in the DVD tab the Nvidia decoder is still the only one listed. I think I need the full WinDVD installation to get the DVD functionality.

The Intervideo NonCSS decoder installed with the Hauppauge software is not able to decode CSS encrypted DVD video.
