After looking around here in different posts and not finding what I was looking for...
I had a choppy sound problem where my integrated sound card (and also trying a PCI card) and one of my two PVR150s were sharing the same IRQs and causing sound problems.
In WIN-XP, the Motherboard (MOBO) ACPI suppose to manage the IRQs and this is why you might see two devices share the same IRQ but my Asus MOBO did not do that very well.
It turns out to be an incorrect IRQ assignment of the ACPI motherboard.

I did not reinstall my OS though. I tried different setting in the BIOS for manually assigned IRQs. And I did not want to move the PCI cards around.
After a day or so my sound seems stable for the moment. It used to be that when I have Winamp running and I open GBPVR and watch live TV, as soon as the live TV starts, I can hear Winamp chokes. It doesn't happen anymore.
Just remember, playing with IRQs is a risky business you might not be able to boot. So take notes of your BIOS setting before you change anything.
I hope this will at least raise some questions.
