i switch aspect ratio using F7 to something i like and every once in a while it would change (or "jump") and have weird artifacts on screen. it would then pop back after a couple of seconds.

i've attached a sample jpg.

any idea what this is? thanks.

actually, lots of the aspects have similar artifacts as i scroll thru them with F7. when i do get a good clean apect, it doesn't seem to hold and will get the artifact then maybe jump back to normal.

i'm using the nvidia purevideo and i have the Display Type set to anamorphic (in the nvidia config). am i missing some other setting?

hi sub.

do you happen to know if this is a bug with the actual card, card driver, or the purevideo decoder?

all my video cards are nvidia, so this is annoying. i'll email them once i can figure out where the bug lies.

thanks.

I dont know. I've only got ATI cards, so I've never seen it myself.

are all nvidia users getting this bug? i've tried two nvidia cards (6600 and 7300GS) and both have this problem.

if there's not a fix, i might just go out a buy ati card.

I seem to remember some discussion about it only doing this when you had DXVA enabled.

Go into the Purevideo video decoder config and untick hardware acceleration

thanks csy, that worked! no more weird artifacts. but isn't the point of having an nvidia card and purevideo decoder is to utilize the hardware fully? is everyone using purevideo disabling hardware acceleration?

thanks again.
