As my GBPVR server runs headless I installed ParaLED to keep watch on its health.
ParaLED seems to be basically working, with LED1 coming on when GBPVR application is started, but I dont get any LEDs coming on for the recording sources. (I have 3 x Nova-t capture cards) even when I set "onlyoneled" to true I dont get anything for capture sources busy.
I know the LED work as when I plugged the LEDs into the parallel port they all came on, and when I started ParaLED they all went out.
Does anybody use this plugin with multiple capture cards ?
Is there something special about BDA sources ?
How did you set yours up ?

Thanks

I use ParLED with 3 LEDS.

1 - GBPVR running
2 - Tuner 1 recording (BDA DVB-T)
3 - Tuner 2 recording (BDA DVB-T)

Unfortunatley I never see LED #3 come on even when I know this tuner is in use. I even tried changing its value from 4 to 252 in the config file (i.e. anything except 1 and 2) No luck.

I really like this application as it can be reassuring to glance up at the HTPC and confirm that it is recording that critical show thay your wife just can't miss. (Something about Desperate Housewives at the moment....)

DTB Digital SD + HD content (PAL-MPEG2-AC3).
Custom case made very quiet. Zalman CPU cooler.
Sits in rack with other HiFi.

ParaLED to show tuner activity.

hmm.. just to make sure (i actually can't remember if i already asked you this....): could you try and run this little utility? just switch the leds on and off (by clicking on them) to verify the pin number of the third LED.

after this could you add a line to recordingStatus.bat

echo %1 %2 >> c:\paraled.log

play with gbpvr a bit to make sure every capture source is used and send me the log-file?

thanks a lot

Yep set up as per the wiki ( I think Wink )

I have attached a summary of the setup if you can spot anything I've done wrong.

I tried out the LED utility you posted, that worked OK all my LEDs could come and go as expected.

Regards

the config looks ok...

hmm.. is the tray app (gbpvrtray.exe) running? because the recordingStatus.bat-file is called by it and not directly by gbpvr itself.

(i just saw that the wiki lacks this information and added it)

No you hadn't asked me to run the utility before.

A very nice utility it is - but it didn't turn ANY of the LEDs on? I checked 888 is set correct in the config file. I just unzipped into my gbpvr directory, ran it and clicked the buttons on and off. Did I miss a step?

This is done - I will let the log accumulate for a few days.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Betlit.
Since I have been playing around with this I am now getting slightly different behavour from before. ( Don't know whats different though )
With "onlyoneled = true" I get a single LED coming on when any recording source is busy ( which I can live with ) , but with "onlyoneled = false" ( my prefered config ) I get no LEDs for recording sources, but other LEDs work OK.

Quote:hmm.. is the tray app (gbpvrtray.exe) running?

Yes, its listed in processes in Task manager.

Is it worth me generating a log file like Wannabepvr ?

Thanks for your help.

ah... there is the problem:

Code:
Y "0:twinhan_full[B]1[/B]:Recording Desperate Housewives""1:twinhan-mini-ter:Recording Commander In Chief"

the problem is the number 1 in the name of the capture source. i have to parse this string (all the capture source's status are one string) for the according capture source number (starting with 0).

paraled parses for "<number>:" which in your case ..._full1:Recording leads to a wrong result Smile

the easiest way (for me...) would be renaming your capture source Smile
