From the TV guide you can schedule programs for recording. Another nice feature would be to schedule programs for live TV.
Then live TV shows just the programs I have selected.

I'll second this one for the WAF.

My TV (integral Freeview DVB-T receiver) will switch from the guide to view the channel or will list onscreen all the channels, direct from the normal viewing position, and then let you scroll/page op/down to select the channel to view.

If I can't deliver that then I'm in trouble!

If I understand correctly live tv would auto change channels depending on the shows you had selected in guide, right?

If this were implemented maybe a selectable option to remind users that a show is about to start (giving an option to watch or record) or to auto change would be useful

Actually, not. Like the previous folks said, I would like this feature. Just like Guide+ works on a regular TV. TitanTV offers the reminder and it is not that useful. I am not sure who if anyone wants an email reminder of a TV show. I am not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I know before hand whether I want to watch or record a show. Thanks.

I don't think we're talking about an email reminder, but rather a popup asking if you still want to watch the show (you might very well have started to watch another show you rather want to finish...)

That said, this request has come up several times before. One problem is with when you are in a multiple MVP environment. Say I schedule the show from one MVP. Which MVP should the show be sent to when it starts? Always the same one? That means that I can't move between my tvConfused. On all MVPConfused? That could be quite annoying to the people who are on the other MVPConfused and are not interested in the show...

Why not schedule the show to be recorded? You get virtually the same effect, at least if you only have one tuner. And if you have more, you will at least be sure you won't miss the show.

Hadn't thought of the multiple MVP issue - good point

I think the idea is to be able to schedule your entire nights 'live' tv so you don't have to change channels. I suggested a pop up so you have the option of watching the scheduled programme or recording it if you want to continue to watch your current programme (would only work with multiple tuners though..). I guess you then have to use the remote to make the choice, so you may as well record or change channels...

A rather late reaction but anyway:
Pieter afaik in our country programs hardly ever start on time so I think you would probably be changing more channels than less. Maybe a reminder that a show is coming up could be nice. I don't think that for me it would be worth the time setting it up though.

I initially though this was a good idea, but since then I've got digital cable connected and the new set top box offers this feature. I've found I never use it.
