I have a new computer coming from the Dell Outlet store I will install GBPVR on the new with the plugins I use. On the old computer I have a 250 gig drive that I use to record on and a 40 gig for the OS and GBPVR. I want to transfer the 250 gig drive to the new computer without losing my recordings what will be the best way to do this. I have a wired/wireless network and a DVD burner on a computer on the network.

Export the recordings in the gbpvr config prog, take the 250 drive out & install in your new machine, copy the recording-dump.xml file in the gbpvr directory from your old machine to your new machine, edit it to point to the new drive letter as appropriate, then import recordings.

Good News. The new Dell is extremely quiet and has 1 gig of ram and 160 gig hard drive. Bad News. The new Dell has the new serial SATA hard drive and my old 250 gig hard drive is an IDE. So what I think I will do is put the 250 gig drive in my main computer as a second drive and share it and leave the recordings on it. Start all over on the new Dell. The Dell has Windows XP MCE is there anything that I have to do so that GBPVR will run without interference from MCE.

You have to kill the mce recording service I believe.
