I received this error message when I clicked on "Recordings" to review my list of pending recordings. I'm using GBPVR 0.96.12 with the default "blue" skin. A zipped copy of my log file is attached. I think the error may have come about because my TV Guide contains gaps. Some of my pending recordings come before the gap, and some come after. I cleared the EPG and downloaded a new one from Zap2It, but the gaps in the guide persist, as does the error message.

Elite, thanks for the link to prior threads with this error message.

Sub, I ran the recordingdatafixup.exe program, and it says that two of my scheduled recordings are "missing related programme record".

Following a suggestion in another thread, I uninstalled GBPVR, deleted the /devnz folder and did a new install. That deleted all of my recordings, and removed the error message.

However, my newly recreated TV Guide is still messed up starting at 7:00 PM tonight. The display shows gaps of blue space on most channels, with entries shifted right by one hour. Thus shows that should be scheduled for 7:00 appear in the 8:00 time zone instead, with everything thereafter off by an hour. So I know I will be able to recreate the problem again if I again try to set up a recording in the time immediately following the "gap".

It occurs to me that Daylight Savings Time occurs in the US at 2:00 AM tomorrow morning. That is 7 hours after this "gap" occurs in my TV Guide display. Is it possible that there could be a problem with the way that Zap2It, GBPVR and my PC interact at the time zone change? On the west coast of the US, I'm 8 hours from GMT, while Zap2It in Chicago is 6 hours from GMT.

No worries - I was getting the same error and came across you're thread while doing a search - Just removing the offending mpegs from the recordings directory fixed the cast error for me.

I have seen a couple of posts regarding blue space on epg - A suggested fix is to do a complete reload and then start using incremental updates again.

Note I don't use zap2it (based in the uk). But from what I've read in other posts it seems Zap2it have had issues with DST (along with other issues Sad ) - Any possibility of switching to xmltv?

I believe Sub is a bit tied up with Version 2.0 at the moment Big Grin

I too have had this error occur, a number of times since upgrading to the latest build.

In each case the error has been due to a schedule (in the Recording_Schedule table) linking to a program (Programme table) that does not exist.

How this has happened is a mystery. There have been two main scenarios for me.
1. -Go into TV guide and create a new "Quick Rec",
- Back to main menu then "Recordings"
- Get the error. At this point GBPVR no longer recognises keyboard input and I need to kill it and restart.

2. The other case where the error occurs ( occasionally) is when I update the EPG and I have reoccuring schedules

Daylight savings has kicked in, my PC clock is adjusted and all of the problems with the TV guide have gone away.

elite: Being in the US I believe I'm stuck with Zap2it (so says the GBPVR Wiki)
I visited the UK for a month last summer & had a good time. Great sightseeing, Great beer and considerable excitement (among other things, we were in London on July 7th). We also developed a taste for "Top Gear". Wish it were available promptly and unedited over here. I followed your link re "version 2". My boys are in their 20s now, but I well remember when we had a 2-year old and a newborn. Sub and his wife will have their hands full for some time.

doogle: My problem seems to have been that either Time Warner Cable, Zap2it Labs or GBPVR applied daylight savings time corrections 7 hours early, so that all shows to be broadcast after 7pm were logged in the GBPVR TV Guide with a one hour offset. When I tried to schedule a recording at 9pm after the database glitch, the error message popped up. None of the fixes posted in the forums worked before my PC clock was reset, and none of them were needed after DST kicked in on my computer. Since neither the GBPVR forum nor the Zap2It forum is flooded with complaints, it appears that I am the only person who got caught.

I'm pretty sure the problem is related to epg data changes - it has gone away since I changed to the incremental update rather than the complete epg reload. Because my epg source can be a bit unreliable, what was happening was that programs were being automatically scheduled, but that later on the scheduled day would dissappear from the epg during a complete reload, leading to the Specified cast problem.

cheers,

Elite said that using XMLTV might fix the problem. For the convenience of anyone else who reads this thread searching for answers: According to another thread in this forum, it is possible to use XMLTV with Zap2It. Instructions are given here:

I'll give that a try. Of course, I won't know until Daylight Savings Time changes again next October whether everything is fixed.
