Hello to all - I've searched and searched for a solution, and I know I'm being a numpty and missing something obviouse - but please tell me what it is:

I've got VideoLan and DaemonTools installed, along with GBPVR and XDVD.
I can't get XDVD to play/transcode/save anything!

When I try to open an ISO (either on the PC client or my MVP), a dos window quickly flashes up on the server, then closes, and nothing happens. I think the error says something about a path not being valid, and sleep command possibly? The closes really quick and that's all I can see.

If I have the VideoLan window actually up and running on the server, then the green square appears in the MVP section of XDVD, but as soon as you select an ISO in the menus, that DOS windows flashes up, VideoLan quits, and the green square disappears.

I get a weeny (few KB) MPG files created in my C: root, but nothing more. I'm presuming it should carry on building up and start playing when it's buffered enough?

Occassionally, the XDVD section in the MVP will show 0/150 in the top left corner, which again, I'm assuming is supposed to give an indication of how far along the transcode process is - but it stays at 0. Sad

Please please help - what am I missing?

have you edited the settings.xml in the skin dir?
'dvddrive' should be your actual dvd drive..'MountDVDDrive' should be your daemon tools assigned drive letter..
etc.etc..

also check playmvpdvdiso.bat to make sure you paths, etc are correct there too...Smile
let me know if still having problems..
if you put a 'pause' on it's own line at the end of that file, the window will stay open and you'll see errors..Smile

Thanks pBS... I'd modified the settings.xml file okay, but now I'm going to sound a right idiot by saying that I can't find a playmvpdvdiso.bat file.. There's obviously something I've forgotten to install here!

Where should that file be, and what is it part of?

Thanks again for your advice,

Ah HA! For some reason, the XDVD installer obviously hadn't copied those BAT files the first time around, as having reinstalled it, they are now there (and edited with the correct path to Daemon Tools, thanks pBS!)

Are those BAT files documented anywhere? If I'd have known they existed, I'd probably have checked them for incorrect paths before now! Wink
I installed Daemon Tools in its default directory, but those scripts are obviously written expecting to find DT in a different place.

Anywho, sorted now, and transcoding ISO's nicely - thanks guys and gals.

Now, all I gotta do is try multiple streams.... Smile

Best regards to all - nice to have found this community, and such great software!
