I have gbpvr installed to c:\Prog... but my recordings get saved to d:\gbpvr. I upgraded to a new d drive to get more space. I recreated the files and directory structure exactly, but gbpvr does not see any of my previous recordings although it will create new ones correctly. I don't think the entries are in the database. I am thinking that at one point I had the computer powered on (i.e. service running) with the path temporarily not valid. Maybe the service thought the files were deleted so it could remove the entries from the database? Is there an easy way to recreate them? I have about 20 or 30 saved. Thanks for any advice.

Yep.

It depends when it happened. If its only just happened, you might have a recording-dump.xml in your gbpvr directory which can be used with the 'import recordings' button in the config app. Otherwise there are some utilities on the wiki written by other users for reimporting recordings.

If you dont have a recrodingsdump.xml you might be able to get the recordings back in the database buy using a utility on the wiki. I think there are at least 2 that can add files to the database. But be advised, I don't think it will recreate the full entry, you wont have the discriptions or proper name's.

OK, I'll try the utilities. I had the file, but it was very minimal. Thanks for the advice.

This is a utility I’ve been using for a few months now.
It won’t help you this time because it keeps track of recordings made after it’s installed.
But it will protect you from loosing recording information in the future.

I "think" the utility MpegImport might save you.

There is a line in the postprocessing.bat saying "call MoveXML.bat". There is no file with that name in the zip you mention. Should it be there?

Also the line saying "GetXML.exe %2" imples the exe will wait for an input "%2". Is that where the dump.xml goes?

IIRC, the postprocessing.bat-file will wait indefinetely for an input (the "%2"), which may not be desirable in an automatic environment.

Besides in my postprocessing.bat I already have an "%2" from comskip which supposedly is the channel number. This may interfere with the %2 from the getxml. Would I in that case exchange for another variable like %3?

What gives?? Pls let me know if I'm wrong.

TIA.

Ignore. I checked the source. Movexml.bat seems to be a temporary file that gets deleted when done dumping. And apparantely the %2 *is* the channel number. So no problem with comskip.

I seem to be answering my own questions a lot lately... :o
