Hi All

I've been playing with GBPVR for a while and reading up a lot but still cant seem to view any LiveTV.

I'm trying to view LiveTV from a DBOX2. I've setup a Capture Source in the config;

Recording Source: DboxRecorder Plugin (IP and ggrab path ok)
EPG Source: XMLTV Plugin (looks ok)
Channel Changer: No Channel Changer Required

Use Live Preview mode if possible is unticked.

I only have BBC1 setup in the channel list at the mo but the channel number in GBPVR matches that on my DBOX.

The DBOX connects to router using ethernet, PC connects to router using wireless.

So, when I try to view LiveTV I don't get very far - see attached log.

If anyone can shed any light or at least give me some pointers I will happily try and work things out - just a bit baffed at the moment.

Cheers people - interesting stuff aint it Wink

What happens if you schedule a recording rather than trying to watch live tv?

Also have you tried without the wireless part of the network, as the DBOX has to stream the data to the PC, and wireless may not be able to keep up with the data flow?

Hi,

gregb Wrote:I only have BBC1 setup in the channel list at the mo but the channel number in GBPVR matches that on my DBOX.

The actual channel number on the dbox (e.g. 25) is not important; in the configuration of the plugin you'll need to map the digital channels from your dbox to 'gbpvr source channels' in the third column of the datagrid.

I tried to schedule a recording before but it failed. (see attached log - ignore ggrab ERROR - that was fixed).

I have thought about the wireless link being the culprit but due to the distance between PC and DBOX and no long cable (yet) I can't eliminate this.

I may have to invest in some of these...(http://www.homeplug.org/en/index.asp) - pretty cool eh?

I think I get what you mean. In the GBPVR Config under the Capture Sources tab I've had a look at the Settings for the Recording Source and I've got a Hex value of 3c00310014 for the Dbox Channel ID of BBC1 and 1 for the GBPVR Source Channel - is this wrong? (see attached). If they should match then Hex 3c00310014 = Decimal 257701249044. Or am I going down the wrong path here.

Cheers

Greetings - playing with this myself -
what image is on your dbox - i assume its a neutrino image -
I'm using a version that alibert has modified to work for the
enigma web interface -
just got the last step working -

your channel number looks right -
something we've seen on the enigma images is the requirement for the namespace value to be populated, and we needed to expand the timeout for the retrieval of PIDs.

On the wireless side - i can run over an 11B network - some drops but ok for testing - but it is an 11M link.

Can you try to compare the request made wby gbpvr - detailled in the log - with that which is sent when using the web interface via a browser -

If the channel changes successfully with the command from GBPVR entered into the web browser then its likely to be something else such as timing - if not - the image you are using might require some other parameter -
or be slower to respond -

Aliberts test rig is connected via cable i believe - so the pids may become available quite quickly - as opposed to some sat links which may take longer.

Somewhere to start anyway -
hope it helps
Regards
Rayman

Hi gregb,

I've just uploaded a development release, please try this version and let me know if it works better.
See http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=1...stcount=78 for details.

Ailbert

Had a very quick play with this - I can't see any TV listings now in the TV Guide - have updated the data.xml with updated listings but can't see anything for BBC1.

When I try and do a manual record I get a Manual Recording folder in C:\ but nothing inside.

When I try LiveTV I get "Starting timeshift mode TV. Please wait." and then GBPVR hangs - I have to end process.

What log files would you need?

I am thinking about trying a new image on my DBOX due to a few other issues - I may try GBPVR witrh this afterwards.

Just as a test using my wireless I tried ftp'ing an 8Mb image from the box and pulled it in around 8 secs - should be good enough for live streaming me thinks. Just trying to rule out other issues.

Hi gregb,

Which EPG source did you define for the dbox recording source? Did you also 'update' the EPG, e.g. by selecting "Update EPG" from the context menu of the GBPVR tray icon?

gregb Wrote:What log files would you need?
GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log
