UbuStream plugin not working

tried to install this plugin but its not recognised. There's an error as shown in the log below. I have copied the gbpvrutilities.dll file into a few directories just in case its looking for it somewhere else.

anyone got this to work?

my commongbpvrutilities.dll was dated 8/8/05.
i installed the weather plugin as it has the latest commongbpvrutilities.dll dated 15/3/06.

got a little further.

the web tv/radio button brings up an error that its looking for a file ...\blue\ubustream\skin.xml which does not exist, only the directory.

tried using ubustream.cmd in a command line, this did not work either, it was looking for a file "ubustreamcmd.log" which did not exist, i just created a dummy log file and at least the command line is working now.

anyone else using this plug in? where do i get the skin.xml that its looking for?

Just took a loot this plugin on the wiki, think ubu may have forgot to inculde the skin xml file in the zip. :confused:

Sorry, happyhammer, I did not notice this thread so did not respond to you. I've been answering questions about UbuStream on another thread in Community Annoucements but should really start a thread on this forum for support issues (maybe this one?). Apologize for the missing skin.xml SNAFU. Hope you have got UbuStream up and running now.

I've seen some discussion in the forums of problems with directly opening zip files directly from the wiki site. Have you tried downloading the zip to a local file and then opening it with WinZip (or WinRAR or whatever you are using)? The zip file is definitely there and it isn't empty.

I would appreciate some help getting Ubustream working in Channel mode. I have tried everything I can think of over a couple of weeks but no luck.

Briefly:

list mode works fine.

In Channel mode when I attempt to watch a channel (stream) I get the message Error: Cannot start process because a file name has not been provided. Regular TV channels work fine.

In live TV mode when I keyboard the channel number of a stream I get a blank screen. Regular TV channels work fine.

I suspect that my problem is that I have misinterpreted the instructions for the recording and preview parameters for VLC. From what I understood from the sample provided I entered the following parameters

Start Recording ParameterS: {channel}out=#transcode{vcodec=mp2v,vb=1024,scale=1,acodec=mp2a,ab=192,channels=2}:duplicate{dst=std{access=file,mux=ps,url=^"{fullname}"^}}

Start Preview Parameters {channel}

all other External Recorder parameter settings have been left blank.

I have tried replacing {channel} with a series of channel numbers {154} for example and {fullame} with a specific names {Research Channel} for example. No change.

Suggestions or questions appreciated.

Sounds like it can't find the URL for some reason. But this works in list mode so it sounds like you have a valid URL. Hmmm:confused:

Your parms look ok. Have you tried playing this with just an External Recorder recording source (ie: without using UbuStream)? That would validate that External Recorder is installed and functioning correctly. If that works, it "should" work fine with UbuStream. Here's an example of setting up UbuStream to record Research TV with VLC (both with and without UbuStream).

These wouldn't work because you have included the braces (ie {channel} would be replaced by 154 not {154}).The second one wouldn't work anyway since {fullname} gets replaced by the URL, not the station name.

If you're still having problems, just post the UbuStreamCmd.log and UbuStream.xml files here and I'll take a look.
