Would like to know more about the CallerID plugin before I use it, can it automatically block certain numbers or is YAC responsible for the management of Caller ID blocking and enabling?

The actual caller ID function is handled by the YAC server and (unless I've missed a setting) it can't block certain numbers.

However, there is another free application called 'phonetray' that you can use to block numbers, auto-answer, block certain times, etc., that may do what you want.

In all honesty, my modem is in another machine on the network and while YAC works fine across the network in this scenario (broadcasting to other PCs and GBPVR via MVPs) I had problems running both phonetray and YAC on the same machine; it would cause my modem to hang, requiring a hard reboot.

This may be due to my crappy winmodem (I only use it for YAC and Fax), but YMMV as they say. It's worth a try.

Mvandere, I'd be very interested in any mods you may make to this plugin - how about the option to pause the tv/video automatically when the phone rings? Smile

Is there a simular option instead of YAC to display a caller via a HTTP link..?

I use a german Fritz Box and that can send a 2 line Info to my XBox with XBox Media Center and also my DBox (Sat-Box)

example: wget -O /dev/null "http://192.168.0.3/control/message?nmsg=@$CALLER ($MSISDN)"

I Emailed the Developer here:
http://www.ip-phone-forum.de/showthread....65&page=38

Background Info..

The AVM Fritz!Box Phone is depending on what Version you buy:

- Router
- Wireless
- USB Connection to a PC
- Analog and ISDN Input for a PSTN Line
- 2 or 3 Analog Outputs for your Homephone
- VoIP Gateway so you can make/receive calls either via Landline or the Internet

It even works just as a VoiceGatway behind an existing Router/Cable modem

The creator of above Mod already included the DBox (Plugin here also in this Forum) and the XBox Mediacenter so when an incoming call is receive it send's it message to the clients and they show it on the TV screen.

Even a reverse lookup is possible in Germany ;-)

I send a PM to him and wait for his answer.

On the Box itself you can store a txt file with Names & Numbers and they get displayed then on the DBox or XBox

DBox either with OK to confirm or timed out:

or XBox (example is another Plugin but it looks simular ;-)

I love technology ;-)

Nice thing is for example if you have relatives in the UK you could get one of these and they can call you Landline Number in the UK (free sipgate.co.uk) and you receive the call via the Internet.

AVM sells them in Germany with Annex B but you can mod it via telnet to annex A

Any news from the YAC author? I don't see a YAC 0.17 on their site yet. My PVR doesn't have any free slots except for a CNR slot so I'm using my gaming system as the YAC server and would like the popup disabled.

Would YAC work with a CNR modem? Where can you buy a CNR modem anyway?

BTW great job on fixing up the caller id plugin. I installed it and it worked flawlessly on the first try.
