Does GB-PVR support displays for 16:9 screens and mapping aspect ratios for larger displays (plasma/lcd etc.) (and remapping during playback to get optimal viewing?)

Does GB-PVR support the MPEG2 hardware encoding native to the Hauppauge PVR 250/350 cards? or is it using a software encoding engine?

Does GB-PVR support the playback of DivX media files, and will it allow you to recompress MPEG2 files into DivX (without using an external program like Gordian or Dr DivX.)?

There is no aspect ratio control yet, but I am working on this.

Yes, it uses the encoding hardware of the PVR250/350. It also is capable of using the decoding hardware of the PVR350.

Yes, it can playback DivX files. No it doesn't contain any recompression software. People might write plugins to do this sort of recompression in the future, but my focus is really on MPEG2 at this stage.

Is it able to play back *.ogm files?

I've add the file extension ogm to the list of accepted video file names for the next release. If you have the appropriate directshow filters installed on your machine, then they should play.
